Acerca de esta escucha

Steve Jobs is not just "the man behind the bitten apple" logo we all know so well, he is the founder of the world’s first trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) dollar company.

He is more than an ordinary man; he is, himself, a legend.

During his time on earth, his contribution toward the betterment of mankind was far more than what most people realize or understand. His ideas on aesthetics and his insistence on simplifying came from his natural ability to focus on the necessary and eject the rest. He understood the human condition and excelled at extracting the best for them and the best from them.

As all great men before him, and surely after him, he was misunderstood in many ways - from the reasons for his temperament to his ability to convert thought to action and action into product.

This audiobook takes you into the life of Steve Jobs more than just the events that happened in his life - but the workings of his mind as he handled those events and how me constantly moved forward with singular purpose and discipline of thought.

There are many areas of his life that seem familiar to us because we experience similar things. We have the same concerns, the same worries, the same reasons to laugh, and the same reasons to cry, but Steve shows us the way to keep moving forward and to make this a better place in every way possible.

This audiobook takes you on a journey of discovery - what you will find at the end of it is a better understanding of a man who did things very differently given the same set of circumstances we all experience in one way or another - and he took those circumstances and made them work - not just for him, but for the world around him as well.

Being someone who has been involved with computers and the internet for more than 25 years and a Apple fangirl for the past 6 years, I considered this a must listen . This is not only the biography of a brilliant, driven, colorful man, it chronicles the history of personal computing and the major players that shaped our experiences today into tomorrow.

This book gives us a closeup look at the man responsible for many of the innovations that we take for granted today and we get to learn how he did what he did but also WHY. This book is fascinating and occasionally funny and shows us how far we've come in the last 30 years.

Fascinating man, fascinating history very well told

What a marvelous book..!! I loved how this book reveals various aspects of Steve Job's life. Language in this book is very simple and easy to understand..!! Also it goes without saying that Steve Jobs is one of the most inspirational personality that ever existed. Just like everyone, he too has his flaws but there is a lot to learn from this man and practice.

What a marvelous book

Steve Jobs's legacy is ubiquitous in products we use every day. In 1978, I first saw an Apple II in a department store in Tokyo. Now my family has three iPhones, one iPad, and three MacBooks. In Jobs's lifetime, however, I underestimated his contributions and I thank his biographer for setting the record straight and giving me a glimpse into who he was as well as what he did. I like the perspective of the author with this book.

A biography that made me appreciate Jobs's legacy

There is a bit of repetition in the story; I considered it acceptable bearing in mind the length of the book. I also found it difficult to grasp who the author was talking about on a number of occasions. He would suddenly refer to someone by their first name and they had not been mentioned for quite some time. Eventually I found I just had to ignore those instances since they really did not matter that much to the overall impression of Steve Jobs.

I had high expectations

I had expected the book to be written more or less from the perspective of Jobs, and while it was, it also included the perspective of other family members, friends, colleagues and opponents in the technology industry. The book explored his indisputable brilliance and his indisputable warts . I finished the book with the firm belief that I knew a lot more about one of the leading innovators of the technology revolution and his role in that revolution. Well worth the read for anyone who uses or is merely interested in technology, whether produced by Apple or any of its multitude of competitors.

Steve Jobs was a complex man - genius and visionary. However, he could also be cold, aloof, rude, dishonest, ruthless and a host of other distasteful characteristics. JR MacGregor is one of the best biographers of our time. This is a must listen for those interested in the history of the personal computer and so many other personal products that drive today's society. But more importantly, this is the story of a complicated life filled with success and ruined relationships.

Covers an exceptional life. Explains how the features we use in modern computers and cell phones developed from the mind of Steve Jobs. Gives a model for how to live out of society's normal paths but in a way that leaves something useful behind to other people. Felt quickly written and edited in parts but Isaacson's world-class research and interview skills more than atone for this. Also some of the quirkier parts of Job's personality shine through. When he cried I laughed, when he died I cried.

Most influential biography I've listen

I must say that listening this book is something that I had to do in my life, like putting a check mark. Although I didn't know that before listening it, of course. I just finished the whole book and couldn't take anything else to listen today because I feel that I need time to process everything that I have listen.

Cleverly written

Very well written, not at all one sided, and I would recommend this book to anyone; no matter what genre you prefer, this book is so awesome to listen the technological advancements that Jobs’ and his closest colleagues and companies have created.

It's impossible to really know how true anything is, but this biography certainly listens as quite true, as it presents both the wonderful and the terrible sides of Steve Jobs. I found the comparisons between Apple and Microsoft especially interesting. Both companies had extremely different strategies, based on the extremely different core philosophies of Gates vs Jobs. Both strategies were successful, just at different times and for different reasons. Microsoft's open platform approach found an early lead with PCs, but Apple has overtaken in recent years with the walled garden of iOS. A thought provoking book for anyone who enjoys biographies or business strategy.
