Acerca de esta escucha

The seventh book of this dark urban fantasy series follows necromancer Eric Carter through a world of vengeful gods and goddesses, mysterious murders, and restless ghosts.

Family is murder.

When Eric Carter helps a friend with a deadly ritual that could determine the fate of the most powerful mage family in Los Angeles he steps into the middle of centuries-long feuds with people who make the Borgias look like the Brady Bunch.

Eric's just fine with the murder, soul eaters, and death magic. He's just having trouble adjusting to being brought back from the grave.

If he's not careful, somebody's going to put him right back.

I love how relatable Eric is. It’s like he’s this hardcore necromancer/mage but his internal monologue is just as self deprecating as my own. The whole story universe is so engaging and Rudy Sanda does a wonderful job voicing all the characters and making go them distinct.

If you like The Dresden Files you will like Eric Carter. He’s like the R rated version of Dresden. So if you are offended by gore or swearing it’s probably not for you.

Last thing; the author does a great job of using correct pronouns. There is a character who is gender fluid and everyone uses the appropriate pronouns in the dialogue. It’s what makes it so noticeable.

Another great entry in the series

Love this next book in the series but why did this narrator voice Gabriella like that? She’s supposed to be a USC graduate who was a sorority girl implying she’s been in the US for most of her life but she sounds like she just learned English and has a thick accent. Very off-putting.

WTH is with Gabriella’s thick accent?
