Acerca de esta escucha

Mike Parrish is a changed man. He did his time, paid his debt to society and steered his life towards a positive path. He has a job, a nice suburban home, and most importantly, a beautiful and intelligent young daughter who has just been accepted into college with a full academic scholarship. She's almost the polar opposite of what he was at that same age, when he was already a career criminal and a prominent member of a notorious Southeast D.C. crew. But when a gang war in the city, fueled by rival crews of lost souls with easy access to all kinds of high powered weapons and a deep hatred for one another, claims the life of his only child, Mike wants justice.

The police force is understaffed and demoralized by the lack of community trust and cooperation which has led to a sharp spike in crime and a steep decline in homicide clearance rates around the country, especially in areas such as where his daughter was killed.

When the law can't solve the crime fast enough, Mike Parrish returns to the same hard streets he made it out of to do some investigating of his own. And when he finds the gang responsible, he's going to be the judge, the jury, and the executioner.

Great story! Although the automated voice makes the story a little choppy at parts the author does a nice job of creating multidimensional and relatable characters that holds the reader (listeners) attention! The story is fast paced with minimum plot holes and an exciting yet realistic outcome. Entertaining!

Engaging and relatable for Inner City Youth
