Harlequin presents author Michelle Smart's fabulous trilogy, which will delight, entice, and enthrall! Meet three dark-hearted men with devastating appeal and the women who prove more than a match for them in The Irresistible Sicilians!
Francesco Calvetti. He has the face of a god and a body made for sin! Francesco doesn't do nice, and he doesn't do damsels in distress. Apart from that one time. He never thought he'd see Hannah Chapman again. A woman like her, pure and untouched, has no place in his world. Ever since losing her sister, Hannah has sheltered herself from the world, but being knocked from her bike is a wake-up call. A call she's ready to accept. There's one thing left on her to-do list, and there's only one man who can help her. But will the dangerous, devastatingly gorgeous Sicilian oblige her?

If it had been there, I would have given a solid four stars. I liked seeing the “bad guy” from the previous novels redeemed. I wasn’t sure it could be done, but the combination of misunderstandings on the part of others and epiphanies on the part of the H in this book make him quite surprisingly lovable. The heroine, well...she’s a little tough to love. If the male/female roles had been reversed, she could only be described as skeevy . She pursues him for sex RELENTLESSLY even to the point that he says he fought against her advances but eventually gave in to her seduction against his will. Not that it was rape. But it was obnoxiously pushy. Then she uses him for sex and ghosts him. When he tracks her down he literally tells her how used he feels that she only pursued him and kept after him until he slept with her then dumped him like that. I don’t like that in a female character any more than I do a male. It shows lack of character and empathy. Add on to her despicable lack of empathy, she was hilariously stupid. I described the events of the book and my husband thought it would make a great comedy-but it was a drama, not a comedy. For example Francesco: You know I am a gangster. You shouldn’t get involved in my life. Hannah: Oh, I know but I’m sure it’s not that bad. Francesco: Marco, show Hannah how I broke every one of your fingers. Hannah: Well, this looks like an old injury. I’m sure you wouldn’t do something like that now. Francesco: yes I would. I do it all the time. Hannah: Suuuuuure you do. Francesco: I stole your phone and passport. You’ll leave Sicily when I say you leave Sicily. Hannah: Please! I know that you will take me back for work on Monday. Francesco: (has phalanx of goons hand him firearms he straps to his body. Hannah: I get it. You are pretending to carry guns to scare me off. Well, it’s not going to work! I know you’re really such a sweet wonderful man! (Newsflash: uh, he’s mafia. The broken fingers are real, the guns are real. You idiot woman, stay away from the mafia! 😂)
