Acerca de esta escucha

From the author of The Long Run comes another unflinchingly raw and boldly hilarious novel about an unlikely group of teens coming together to exact revenge on the person who wronged them.

All’s fair in love and revenge…

Phil Reyno is a “troublemaker.” With a punk aesthetic and a quick temper, Phil knows that it’s surprising to see him dating universally beloved Cameron Ellis, whose viral coming out video made him an internet darling.

Jackson Pasternak is a “good guy.” Junior class president, star rower, and Ivy bound, Jackson is burnt out and misses the only person who ever truly knew him—his ex-best friend, Phil.

When Cameron dumps Phil and torpedoes his already-iffy reputation in the process, Phil hatches a plot to expose Cameron as the two-faced liar he truly is. And he finds the perfect weapon in his old pal Jackson, who agrees to infiltrate Cameron’s circle and uncover dirt.

But as Phil and Jackson rediscover their friendship—and more—they start to wonder… Will knocking Cameron off his pedestal really solve their problems?

Teenagers can be so messy, I do not miss those years at all.
While I didn't love this as much as The Long Run, I really did enjoy Phil and Jackson's story.
Lots of teen drama, so much drama.

The narrators were good, although maybe a little older sounding than I'd like, but not enough to be a real distraction.

Teens are so messy.

Very thrilling storyline. Loved the characters, especially Jackson and his VA who I hadn't heard before, but really had a standout performance. Really liked being in Jackson's head, very interesting character

The drama!

When I listened to this book, I was curious of what the title of the book really meant? Now, I know. The book is confusing. itt goes back in time, then goes present time, then back in time, and thier so many story lines that it's hard to remember of where you are in the book? I would give this book a lower rating, but the narrative was good! Basically this book was good, but confusing and out of order.

Confusing

The performance of Philip was just a bit too "young Harvey Fierstein" for my tastes.

not bad

Just finished reading/audiobook teenage dirtbags and I wanted to say how much I loved this book and these characters. Jackson and Phil felt so real and I will miss them. I love the STOP sign and how it came back several times as a theme or an object with deeper meaning. Max Meyers as Jackson was so honest and heart wrenching in his portrayal of what also could seem like a form of neurodiversity, I could see his list being relatable. Also I loved the contradictions in both characters and how teens are full of contradictions and yet supposed to be archetypes of one thing or another. This really captured that feeling. One last thing, spoiler…. The coming out in the car moment — beautiful. Thank you 🙏🏼 - Cassie (playwright/screenwriter)

I will miss these characters!!

I freaking loved Ronny and how bold and sassy and unapologetic she was. Jackson was so sweet and his constant need to have everything planned out and his anxiety and desire to understand and be liked felt so real. I just wanted to hug Phil and listen to him rant. This was so fun and I honestly loved it.

fun and personable

Per usual. I cannot get over the style and prose of the writing. The author can truly tell a story that has true emotions that are very deep and often you don't see in modern young adult fiction. I think my only issue with my story compared to the long run is that the characters are younger and so it feels more immature than the characters of sandro and bash. I am not a big fan of social media in young adult fiction because it will not age well so taking that aspect out of the story the rest is amazing.

Old characters return in this sophomore novel.

For 12 hours. They feel misunderstood. They just want to have a great junior year. They feel unseen. But they also want to hide. They feel entitled. So they steal stop signs that cause accidents and don't feel guilty. They feel excitement through their social media personas. So they use these personas to destroy their friends and rivals. They moan about life and manipulate those around them and basically nothing else happens. This is the story. Just slide down a steep, icy road naked. It'll be less painful than listening to this wretched piece of attempted fiction.
