Jane's not happy. She's been packed off to England to fight in a war when she'd much rather be snogging Anyan. Unfortunately, Jane's enemies have been busy stirring up some major trouble - the kind that attracts a lot of attention. In other words, they're not making it easy for Jane to get any alone time with the barghest, or to indulge in her penchant for stinky cheese.
Praying she can pull off a Joan of Arc without the whole martyrdom thing, Jane must lead Alfar and halflings alike in a desperate battle to combat an ancient evil. Catapulted into the role of Most Unlikely Hero Ever, Jane also has to fight her own insecurities as well as the doubts of those who don't think she can live up to her new role as Champion.
Along the way, Jane learns that some heroes are born. Some are made. And some are bribed with promises of food and sex.

Getting frustrated with Jane's stupidity

I’ll stop right here and say that I miss the fun and light feel of books 1 & 2. Jane and the group have been thrown into some serious and dark places since book 3 and it only gets darker. Sure there’s still some funny and snarky moments but I guess with the gang being away from Rockabill the feeling of the series is definitely different. And the whole creature thing and Jane’s connection to it has me going uh?!
So the things I did like about Tempest’s Fury is that we get to know Anyan on a personal level. Like his history and how he feels about Jane. I really think Anyan and Jane make a great couple. It took so long to get them there and I wish the two could really catch a break and just be able to have a quiet weekend getaway. Maybe after they save the world from the Red Queen and the White King.
Now I’m off to start the audio of Tempest Reborn and I can’t wait to see how Peeler brings this series to an end. Especially after that (I saw it coming) cliffhanger.
Great Narration. Story Meh.
