Acerca de esta escucha
Where did the Brothers Grimm get the inspiration for their classic fairy tales? Maybe from their own encounters with the strange and magical…
Palace life isn’t supposed to feel like a curse. Jacob Grimm should feel lucky living under chandeliers and surrounded by rosewater fountains, especially with the brilliant and brave Maid Maleen tugging at his heart. But all he can think about is Wilhelm, his brother still trapped in the cursed form of a wolf.
Then Mother Hulda grants Jacob’s wish. Wilhelm returns, but something’s wrong. He may walk on two legs again, but the curse still clings to him. They learn the only way to break it for good is to stop the rise of the Underworld King.
Deep beneath the earth, Sultan, the ancient ruler of the Underworld, waits to escape with his army of the dead. He can only do this if he can reclaim his lost treasures: a golden crown, a time-twisting key, and a healing cloak. To stop him, Jacob and Wilhelm must find the treasures first. But a strange man named Mr. Korbes—who’s curiously afraid of cats and ducks—is already hunting them on Sultan’s behalf, and nobody, not even Mother Hulda, knows why.
As the brothers race against Mr. Korbes, they face tilting death traps beneath the palace of Pfriem Brakel, try to keep Snow White and Rose Red from kissing a suspicious frog, face a churning pool of doomed souls, and dodge the claws of a monstrous Underworld creature. Through it all, Jacob finds himself falling harder for Maid Maleen.
Even with a key that rewinds time, they’re running out of it. Jacob and Wilhelm have no choice but to outwit Korbes and recover the treasures first. Otherwise, Wilhelm’s curse will never break, and the Underworld King will rise to drench the world in darkness, despair, and death.
