Acerca de esta escucha

On the forsaken mining world of Xylos, life is a grim countdown, each colonist’s existence measured by the relentless fading of their Chroma-Mark—a death sentence under the iron rule of the tyrannical Solarian Minerals corporation. Mateo “Teo” Herrera, a cynical surveyor haunted by a past tragedy and his own diminishing Mark, navigates this brutal reality with weary resignation.

Everything changes with the arrival of Dr. Elena Dávila, an idealistic scientist from Earth. Her official mission is to study Xylos’s extremophile flora, but her driving ambition is to understand the mysterious Fade that consumes the colonists. When she uncovers an impossible anomaly—an infant born with a perfect, deep black Chroma-Mark in a colony where such vitality is unheard of —she and Teo are drawn into a perilous quest for truth.

Their investigation peels back layers of corporate deception, revealing that Solarian Minerals has not only known about a miraculous, radiation-neutralizing microorganism, Xylosendos Omega (XEO), but has actively suppressed its existence. The corporation plans to exploit XEO for off-world profit and a new, bio-engineered workforce, all while allowing the current colonial population to perish—a calculated, slow-motion genocide.

Branded fugitives for daring to expose this horrific truth, Teo and Elena must ignite a rebellion. From the grit of Old Town to the forbidden, glowing depths of the Crimson Caves where XEO thrives, they risk everything to share their discovery and spark a desperate uprising against a seemingly invincible corporate giant. The battle for Xylos is bloody and hard-fought, culminating in the capture of the planet's oppressive administrator.

But liberation from Solarian Minerals brings an unforeseen power: the Solarian Concord. Arriving as saviors, they end the Fade with the widespread distribution of the XEO serum, ushering in an era of unprecedented health and stability. Yet, this new order comes at a steep price. Xylos is declared a "Protectorate," its people and its precious XEO becoming strategic assets of the Concord. Travel is restricted, surveillance is constant, and true self-determination remains elusive.

As Teo and Elena confront this "gilded cage", they realize the fight for Xylos’s soul is far from over. Can they navigate the subtle machinations of a power far greater and more insidious than Solarian? In a world offering comfort without control, and life without liberty, the struggle for true freedom has just entered a chilling new chapter.
