I have enjoyed everything Wrede has written. The narraters timing is excellent, and lets you enjoy all the humor in the story.

Very reminiscent of the enchanted forest series! Excited to see what the second book has in store for us. I often feel Patricia C. Wredes books instill a lot of good values and morals, so an excellent choice as a book for someone younger!

Patricia C. Wrede has long been a favorite author. I have always enjoyed her authorial voice. This book has the same feel as her enchanted forest series. I can’t wait to hear the relationship between Kayla and Zar develop when we get a sequel. If you enjoy reading Ursula Vernon/T Kingfisher you will probably love Wrede’s work as well, they both write characters who are relatable and very sensible. I can’t possibly recommend this book strongly enough. I love it I think most people will love it too.
