One of mankind's greatest secrets... has been hiding in plain sight for three thousand years.

Half a century ago, an aberration was spotted by one of our earliest satellites, and summarily dismissed as a hardware malfunction. But it was no aberration. And no malfunction. It was an accidental glimpse of something extraordinary, and very old.

Mocked for decades, the man who designed the satellite is now dead. With the system's original data firmly in the hands of former NTSB investigator Joe Rickards and anthropologist Angela Reed.

But the data is only to be shared with one other person besides them: a seventy-five-year-old NASA engineer who was part of the original program.

Joe Rickards is convinced it will lead mankind into darkness.

Angela believes it may be the answer the modern world has been longing for.

And former NASA engineer Leonard Townsend hasn't the slightest idea what he's about to get involved in.

To make matters worse, through a strange bedside confession, a journalist thousands of miles away has just learned that someone else already knows about the satellite's fifty-year-old discovery.

Because they've been secretly using it for years.

I have listened to Scott Brick's wonderful narration of all of Michael C. Grumley's novels. The ideas presented in Grumley's boooks are so thought provoking. The research for his novels is accurate and intriguing. The characters have depth and humanity. I can't pigeonhole
the novels as totally philosophy, science fiction, suspense, or mystery with a dash of romance. I can say after finishing every one, I am questioning what we perceive as reality, why we are on earth, the interconnection of all things living, and what is afterlife. To summarize the plot is a simplification. To ponder the propositions is more of the main point to me of Grumley's books. Please do enjoy listening to or reading this and all Grumley's amazing books.

Fascinating

Wonderful mix of science and sci-fi by Michael. I always enjoy his fantasy and cutting edge science combination as well as the bonds between his main characters. A great sequel to The Last Monument. Love all the globe-trotting in his novels. Takes me to a web browser to look up
the locations for a good visualization of the locales. Scott Brick delivers his consistently engaging narration.

Another great offering by Michael Grumley

Not one of Grumlet's best. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one seemed to drag. Scott Brick's narration is overly melodramatic and doesn't change cadence for the individual characters which detracted. I will not be continuing this series.

I usually like Grumley.

I love Michael C. Grumley's books. Scott Brick brings you right in with his voice. This book and the one before it was made even better by his reading of it! Keep up the good work.

A great book, great writer , and favorite reader

The narrating & story were fantastic and well told but I have the same issue I have with the first book; the endings lack a solid finish. Both books have an ending that is slightly unclear and open ended. More details on the demise of characters would have been a lot more compelling.

Great narrating & story but lacks finish

Michael has done it again. A book that you don't want to put down. Exciting and a really good story. Worth getting.

Great read

The story was good but a bit complex for my simple mind. Quantum physics (or it's concept) is a bit difficult for me to grasp. I did however enjoy most of the book. The story was overall good.
I felt it was a bit let down by the narrator, especially in the beginning (he got better in time, or I just got used to him). His highly over exaggerated excitement level made it feel like it was being read by a 10 year old. Overly dramatic isn't an exaggeration. CALM DOWN. ← feel like I should put 20 explanation marks here. Once he relaxed his reading was good.
I got this book on sale and it was worth it but not sure it's worth a credit.
With that said I will get more Michael C. Grumley book.

Absolutely amazing, I took longer than I would have liked to finish it, but was well worth it, can't wait for the third book.

Outstanding story

I guess I should have reviewed the last book I did this one cause l have no idea how we got here. Granted it could be a stand alone book, but usually there are clues referring back to the last one.

Even then, the story seemed to really go no where. It just plodded along without having a real plot to it.

I Don’t Know
