Acerca de esta escucha

Sheriff Bo Tully is the kind of western lawman who's as good with the ladies as he is with his guns, and he never lets a death threat get in the way of a good barbecue. He's a man with a sense of humor, which comes in handy when trying to establish order in Blight County.

In this latest tale, Tully pursues a 75-year-old missing persons case in which a pair of gold miners (a two-man drilling team known as a double-jack) mysteriously disappeared just as they hit the mother lode in a remote part of Blight County. Meanwhile, a second, more threatening case looms large. After serving only two months of a life sentence, a mentally unstable murderer named Kincaid - a nasty piece of work if there ever was one - manages to escape prison, setting his sights on killing the man who put him behind bars: one Sheriff Bo Tully. In an effort to lead his would-be killer into the open, and also to do a little gold prospecting and fishing while he's at it, Tully heads north with his ex-sheriff father, Pap, and his friend and expert tracker, Dave.

As the two cases play themselves out, Sheriff Tully finds himself hunting down one murderer who's probably long dead, and being hunted by another who's very much alive.

I like Patrick mcmanus's stories Danny Campbell was tolerable only because the story was so good. Norman Dietz is the best so far!

This is the 4 th Bo Tully book I have listened to and they are full of sarcastically humorous characters which manage to keep me going

So happy all of the Bo Tully books are here now. I read them once before but I'm super happy to have them on Audible now.

Still funny, and still love any Pat McManus book.

I have only gone through three of the Bo Tully books but this one was by far the funniest. One particular joke with Pap had me laughing so hard I almost had to pull over. You'll know it when you hear it.

One of the best Tully books

Great Story, but spoiled it by the poor readers..

Some repetition of details but on the whole “can’t put it down” reading. Bo is on the right track. And such a selection of characters! I’d love to see Pap crawling from the back over that seat with so many other passengers in the car! Yeah! Sure!

Very entertaining

The characters are great, and the narrator never distracts you from that. That's the perfect audiobook!

Loved it!

I love all the Bo Tully books. Recommend the whole series. This one is book #3 and is a more outdoor story with a lot of camping...right up McManus' alley! All are stand alone stories, but they are linked. I recommend listening to them in order. The narrator, Danny Campbell isn't as good at the different voices as Charles Leggett or Tom Stechschulte, but it was still good. Great story, highly recommend!

Love all the Bo Tully books. Anything McManus!

I have been repeatedly disappointed in McManus's Bo Tully series. His book,The Blight Way, was probably the best as it had an excellent narrator who brought the humor in the story to life. I can barely listen to the raspy voice of the current narrator who does not capture the stories characters or their humour. I can handle a bad narrator though if the story is good. Correction: if the story is good but is not filled end to end to with sexual innuendoes. I don't mind attraction between two single people, but the endless sexually implied comments and actions between Bo Tully and a married woman smacks of indecency and does not add an ounce to the type of story this is. We have laughed ourselves sick at Pat's earlier short story books- "Never Sniff A Gift Fish" etc... My 13 year old says he reads one of those stories every night before bed! However, the extent of the sexual and indecent insinuations in these books is to the point where I won't allow my kids to listen to them. A little bit is one thing. Especially in the bounds of a decent relationship. But when it is outright bordering on illicit relationships I draw the line. My respect for McManus and his writing has dropped which is really disappointing because he was a childhood "hero" to me and my friends and now he appears to be just a typical writer inflicted with the current obsession with sex. You write a great mystery, Mr. McManus- just leave out the extra stuff and you will have some serious winners again!!! #loveagoodoutdoorstorybellylaugh

Disappointed in these books, loved his old ones
