I really liked how the story unfolded. When there were situations that could have left the main character feeling alone, her family was Al there to support her. I also like that it portrayes how there are things you can’t change about the people you love, so you accept them as is.

From the moment Emmeline makes her very undignified performance at The Event, to the moment Zach shares his secret with the town, there’s a lot of small town drama and budding romance.

Some of the people in the book could be annoying. The author does a good job of giving them life, but still making them tolerable. I can’t imagine people being that much in my business, but it happens.

Zach is sweet and their second chance meeting in New York is adorable. They truly are meant to be there.

I prefer duel person point of view, we only get her thoughts, but it’s still an enjoyable listen. The narrator does a good job with the southern voices.
