What Abby thought she needed was alone time to heal. What she ended up with was, an inn she never knew she wanted, a cat she couldn't seem to convince to leave, and a new family she'd never be able to live without.

In Book 17 in the series, Abby joins Colt as he investigates the death of a local man who died after eating pudding dosed with poison during a community dinner. Was the man targeted or was the poison in the pudding a random act set into motion by a madman intent on murder?

Meanwhile, Thanksgiving is only a few days away and several guests who've visited the inn in the past return to spend the holiday with Abby, Georgia, and the rest of the Inn at Holiday Bay family.

I love The Inn at Holiday Bay series. I thought I would try narration for this book as I enjoy listening to books while doing chores around the house. What a disappointment this was! I had to stop listening and return to reading in order to finish this book. I listen to a lot of books and this was the first time that I was unable to finish listening to a book. The narrator’s voice was not as pleasant to my ears (a little high pitched for my taste) but I would have continued to listen if she hadn’t taken, longer than necessary, pauses at the end of many sentences that ended with a declaration of who had made the comment. It interrupted the flow of the story, so badly, that I had to stop listening. I will not purchase any further audio books with this narrator, which I .regret, because I do love this series, I will continue to read these books and recommend the series.
