Acerca de esta escucha

In AD 100, John the Apostle is restored to the body of his youth and sent on a mission with a warning to never reveal his true identity. Fast-forward to modern-day Seattle, where John leads a foundation dedicated to bringing clean water to third-world nations. When a new television series threatens to reveal the truth of his identity, John struggles to keep his secret, especially as he grows close to Nicole, a young woman he recruits to lead his organization.

For 2,000 years, John has wandered the Earth while hiding his identity. But now both friends and foes are on the verge of discovering who he really is - an event that will trigger the end-times. Can John divert those who would discover his secret, or will curious friends and suspicious enemies spark the apocalypse?

Any additional comments?

Don't take the author/narrator's attempt at foreign dialects too seriously!

An intriguing story with a mind bending take on Christian history and future ramifications. Must say I rather liked the tale of "What if..." presented in this story. There're many enjoyable twists and turns that the author wove through out the centuries, that kept me listening and coming back for more. The ending was a bit rushed for my taste, but I still enjoyed this book well enough to keep my eye open for a sequel, and ponder the possibilities it presented for quite sometime.

Interesting possibility

enough said. writers write, narrators narrate. know your gift and stick with that please. great story, awful narration

authors should leave narrating to the professionas

I first went into this book with little expectations. I was duly surprised. Historic and engaging, the book is well rounded with action and history and most importantly of all Jesus. I greatly enjoyed the flashbacks into the past. I also felt the joy of the writer in his voice and his work. However there were a few aspects I had trouble with. While the book is about John, I personally would like to see more focus of some secondary characters in few books. There were opportunities for interesting subplots that the author did not take and because of this many characters’ personalities felt flat. Very few characters were anywhere near dynamic and even the protagonist himself was fairly predictable. However, I truly enjoyed reading this book. As I said, the flashbacks were superb with riveting plots, fascinating history, and characters you want to meet again. If you are interested in history, mystery and a well-mixed version of the two, this book is for you.

Interesting Read for Christians Around

I got this via audible and listened enthralled to the dual stories of the last apostle in the first century, and his life in the present. It was history up close, insightful and exciting and then contemporary issues and relationships until the last few chapters. In order to wrap up, the author took an amazing life and made it trite. So very disappointing-

Loved it until ending

You know how you cringe when a car dealer or furniture store owner does their own commercials? This is like that, might be a good author but the monotone reading voice was hard to listen to and the story having John a ninja warrior fighting bad guys was a bit silly. I only made it through 3 chapters and deleted it

Hard to listen to
