Acerca de esta escucha

Boston expat Maura Donovan came to Ireland to honor her grandmother's last wish, but she never expected to stay in provincial County Cork - much less to inherit a house and a pub, Sullivan's, in the small village of Leap. After a yearlong struggle to stay in the black, Sullivan's is finally thriving, and Maura has even brought back traditional Irish music to the pub. With a crop of new friends and a budding relationship with handsome Mick Nolan, Maura's life seems rosier than ever - but even in Ireland, you can't always trust your luck.

It begins with Maura's discovery of a body in the ravine behind the pub. And then the Irish gardai reveal that the victim's face has been battered beyond recognition. Who is the faceless victim? Who wanted him dead? And why was his body dumped in the backyard of Sullivan's Pub?

Even after the dead man is finally given a name, nobody admits to knowing him. In the tight-knit world of Leap, no one is talking - and now, it's up to Maura to uncover the dark secrets that lurk beneath the seemingly quiet town.

Laced with warm Irish charm, a delightful small-town setting, and a colorful cast of characters, New York Times best-selling author Sheila Connolly's seventh County Cork mystery, The Lost Traveller, conspires to delight.

Would love to have more of the County Cork Mysteries. The characters are wonderfully portrayed.

Loved this series

I really enjoyed this mystery. It didn’t follow the standard format of waiting until the last chapter or two to pull off the big reveal. It was more complicated, and I don’t want to give out spoilers, but it has a very satisfying ending. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. And Amy Rubinstein is a fantastic reader and really brings the characters to life.

So enjoyable!

sheila's characters are funny and relatable. this book is no exception. I come from a small town so her characters where nothing is a secret is so relatable for me.

great next addition

I like this series but Maura gets on my nerves. business and house drops into her hands and she complains about learning how to run everything.

I am completely confused about the 4.4 rating this book has showing. This book was very drawn out. The author kept repeating supposed problems over and over and over (example: who to hire to work at the pub). The main character ranged from being really smart when discussing clues about the murder, to asking the most paranoid off the wall questions about everything else. She could not make up her mind about anything. There was NO excitement in this text, just drawn out discussion about who to hire to work at the pub, should the kitchen be fixed and who killed the man in the ravine.
Not worth the money unless you are looking for something to put you to sleep.

Very drawn out and nothing exciting

I found the book “comforting”. By this I felt very much at home in the story setting. I tend to read fast-paced books and so I had to gradually realize that this book was very different with a completely everyday pace. After all most life isn’t a page-turner. I liked the tale of an American trying to fit in in a foreign country. I lived in Rome for 17 years and I greatly sympathized with Moira. I will search out the authors other writings.
.

A pub that serves up more than a pint.

Sheila Connolly has another winner in THE LOST TRAVELLER. Continuing the County Cork saga with old friends and new, she weaves a tale of mystery and intrigue with a dash of Irish flair. I hope the wait for the next book is a very short one!!

THE LOST TRAVELLER wins you over!

Love all of the series. Start at the beginning and go through all of them.

County Cork Mystery series

County Cork Mysteries is an enjoyable series with a good atmosphere and likable characters, but the actual mystery is very simple. But the interesting characters and the ambience of Ireland make up for the shortcomings.

Not My Favorite, but a Pleasant Series

Struggled with characters and plot, I have been happy with prior books in the series . Narration seemed off in this one and normally enjoy this narrator.

disappointing
