The town coroner reports her stepfather died of natural causes, but Lilly is not convinced and joins a motley crew of locals to solve her first case.

Leaving D.C. for good, Lilly’s excited to start her new small-town life and reopen the inn. But, a murder at the grand opening of her newly inherited inn wasn’t exactly the kickoff Lilly was hoping for.

Distraught when a guest goes missing, and a local fisherman pulled up an unidentified body in his fishing net, accusations fly, the inn’s initial warm fuzzies fizzle, and Lilly found herself knee-deep in another murder.

Finally settling into Drifter’s Cove life with this murder mystery behind her, Lilly’s on her way to making the renovated inn an upscale destination and plans her summer kickoff party. But as the posh party ensues, personalities clash, tempers flare, and a guest ends up dead.

The stories were okay, but the narration was awful. I will never again listen to a book narrated by a computer. There was no emotion. There was no change in voice for male and female. No feeling. Computers are taking away too many human jobs as it is. Leave narration to humans!

Obviously, the AI narration was ridiculous and took away from the story. The story is decent, but it's a bit mid-level writing, but interesting anyway.

did not like the virtual reading...tone inflection and pausing was way off and changed the meaning of the sentences.

The story line is great but the computer version of a reader is awful. I won’t be pursuing any other audio books with computer generated voicing. So disappointing.

The computer generated narration was frustrating. Bordering on monotone, when there WAS inflection in a sentence it was typically off. The emphasis was put on the wrong word in the sentence. Questions were spoken as statements. Statements were spoken like questions. It completely changed the narrative and the context of the story. The plot was predictable. At least it was free.

The reading wasn’t understandable in some instances because the inflections were wrong, and the some of the pronunciation was even wrong. It was difficult to follow.

The story line was great. Loved the characters. At least I know to never purchase an audio book again with AI reading. Emotionless, monotone and just weird. If it weren't for the storyline I would have stopped listening probably a quarter of the way through book one. I hope this isn't going to be the new trend.
