Acerca de esta escucha

Johnny Cash is one of the most influential figures in music and American popular culture today. While he was an icon to people of all ages during his life, Cash's legacy continues after his death. His remarkable story is captured in this exclusive authorized biography, addressing the whole life of Johnny Cash - not just his unforgettable music but also his relationship with June Carter Cash and his faith in Christ. His authenticity, love for God and family, and unassuming persona are what Steve Turner captures with passion and focus in this inspiring audiobook.

Different from other books about him, The Man Called Cash brings Cash's faith and love for God into the foreground and tells the story of a man redeemed, without watering-down or sugar-coating. Unquestionably one of the biggest book releases of 2004, The Man Called Cash will be a huge success with his millions of fans and will draw in many new fans with this inspiring story of faith and redemption.

The audiobook is narrated by Rex Linn and Cash's close friend and musical partner, Kris Kristofferson.

A unbiased look at the high and low struggles of a man who defined a new music. His weaknesses and his strengths. His loves and admirers. Johnny Cash was a unique presence of authenticity. He handled success and failures with great struggle, but his faith gave him the tenacity to persevere. An American icon.

Tenacious, emotional, encouraging.

Johnny Cash's relationship with God is the story that I wanted to hear. Steve Turner has delivered it. As great a man as Johnny Cash was, he is as human as anyone we'll ever know. I felt Johnny's pain as he lived in shame and guilt knowing that he was not living the way he knew his God wanted him to. This is a magnificently well written book about sin and redemption. Steve Turner's incredible amount of details make this book a great listen. My favorite line in the book is what Kris Kristofferson said about Johnny when he died: "He was Abraham Lincoln with a wild side". This is a book well worth listening to. It will make you take a deep look at yourself.

So often we do not know the personal struggles of those we admire. That live in the “spot light. This book revealed a much deeper understanding of a great man. I am very grateful I was privileged to have listen to this book.

I enjoy hearing about Johnny Cash and was excited for this book. Rex Linn was an actor I was familiar with and liked so I thought a win. The book was filled with tons of information, a lot I hadn’t heard and once I became accustomed to Rex’s voice as the one doing the audio and “not acting with his voice”, it was enjoyable.

As a Johnny Cash fan for years I was not aware of the depth of his religious convictions that are pointed out throughout the narration of the book. I found the repeated use of scripture to be a bit much in describing the man but overall I enjoyed the story. I found the narrator’s voice to be uninspiring and came across like listening to someone reading a news paper article aloud for a group of people at a lecture on the life and religious calling of one John R Cash.

Provides a better understanding of the man Johnny Cash for the average fan
