Acerca de esta escucha
There are two big questions people tend to ask when they venture into podcasting;
1. How can I grow my audience?
2. How can I make money from this?
Both are reasonable and logical questions. It makes a lot of sense to ask these things when you’re committing your time, energy, and resources to podcasting. Naturally, you’ll want to reach people and you’ll want to earn a return on your investment of time.
I would like to suggest a third question that I think is also worth asking;
3. Does the content I’m creating connect with my understanding of my greater mission in life?
Without a doubt, the shows I record connect to my sense of mission, and that has a big impact on how motivated I remain to keep releasing new content.
Good podcasts are starting to develop a large cultural influence, and good podcasters are intentional about sharing the messages they feel passionate about while serving their listening audience through the content they create.
I’m grateful for the fact that my shows help me connect with my listeners. I’m grateful to be earning a healthy income from the shows I’m recording. I’m grateful that my podcasts provide an avenue for me to fulfill part of what I believe to be my greater mission in life. At the end of the day, if you choose to become a podcaster, I want you to have the same experience I’m having in each of these areas.
In the coming pages, I’m not going to bother you with lengthy chapters that outline the basics of podcasting. You can watch a five-minute YouTube video and learn most of that. Honestly, you don’t need much more than a decent microphone with a pop filter, laptop computer, recording software, quiet room, and a hosting service. (By the way, my favorite microphone at present is the Shure MV-7).
The point of this book is to give you a playbook that takes your podcasts to the next level. It’s a book for people who want to be more intentional about the shows they create. It’s also a book for those who want to create above-average content that produces above-average results.
Great book for improving your podcasting skills
