Um, it was ok. I'm not sure why everyone was so in love with Sydney. She didn't seem like anything special to me. There was nothing super special about this book either. There was some bullying before they fell in love with her golden vagina, some weird high school girl pranks in the bathroom, some very strange texting with L (that whole exchange could have been written out of the story), lots of breaking and entering, somno, period play, but not much plot. The whole mom/police thing was ridiculous too

The audio was pretty good. It would have been great in duet/full cast narration. But it was pretty good.

I probably won't revisit this one.

I’m a fan of dark romance but there were just so many things that fell flat. I rarely give negative reviews just move onto the next book but I invested so much time trying to care about anything in this story, and unfortunately,I should have passed. Love the author but this was a letdown for me. To each his or her own!

Why:

Female narrator - voice was flat and monotone, no idea what drove her decisions, felt zero emotion or chemistry, it was like she was just there for the next guy to f her. She narrated like 80% of the book and what felt like the first 5 hours so it was painful to listen.

Male narrators - Huge fan of Teddy Hamilton and Carter. I wish it was duet narration - at least the sex scenes would have been hotter.

Storyline - the mom plot was unnecessary, except the bracelet (which is what started this whole spiral of events). If Sidney was so close to these guys, WHY didn’t she confess to Oliver that’s what she was looking for when she broke in. And at the very end it was like a blip, “ heres your bracelet”. Weird.

I’ve read quad stories that were so much sexier because of the chemistry between all the characters. Aside from maybe 3 quad scenes it was just one after another taking turns. No sizzle at all. The dominant control was barely there aside from the bullying and taking her whenever they wanted, with zero objection from Sidney.

12 hour book equated to bullying, banging, torture, stalkers, and lots of sex (which is usually fine by me!! No chemistry or emotional depth killed it for me). Didn’t make me happy, sad, hot, terrified, or satisfied with the conclusion. Oh, and beware of triggers if that isn’t your thing!!!

Sorry! I tried to like it.

Phew, those are all some of my favorite things & S. Massery hasn’t let me down yet! I feel like I haven’t read a dark dark romance in a while & this one reminded me why I love them so much!

Sydney, Carter, Penn, & Oliver are a wild ride! Their dynamics & how they develop was a rollercoaster for sure! I felt for Sydney so much because she really was struggling with a lot, had so much on her plate, & so many people against her. Like an entire school...

Now the men did contribute to those struggles more than once, but like I said, emotional rollercoaster that is worth it! And while Sydney’s relationships with them individually vary, once they get past & work through some things, the men would burn the world for her.

Also, the suspense in this one is great! I love that even though it’s a dark romance as the main genre, S. Massery still has an actual plot & suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat!

I still don’t know who’d I’d choose from the three men, but so glad Sydney (nor I🙃) didn’t have to!

The cast of this audio is what originally hooked me, and since I’m in my harem era, I figured this would be a good time. Sydney finds herself in trouble and at a new school after she hands over the playbook of her father’s hockey team to her ex boyfriend [and team member of the rival hockey team]. Pretty much everybody hates her, but hate quickly turns to obsession for star hockey players Penn + Oliver. Annnnd ex Carter’s hat is still in the ring for reasons unknown [as in truly I still have no idea]. Sydney struggles to find her way but with the protection [and stalking] of these three, she’s sorta kinda safe .. for now. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a bully romance and this one is biiiig bully which was nostalgic in a way. This story has meeeega stalking, somno, and knife play, which helllllo don’t threaten me with a good time. It’s pretty spicy, but the plot left some things to be desired. The first half of the story was chef’s kiss, but the second half had me speeding up my audio. The plot went in some directions I didn’t love and the growing subplots felt unnecessary. I think perhaps it’s a writing style preference for me and that’s okay. This story is marketed as a reverse harem, and while Sydney is indeed with all three men at the same time, it felt more like an open relationship than anything else. There is no group dynamic with this harem and that really missed the mark for me. They don’t have that family mentality or relationship most expect with a harem, even at the end of the story, so it was a *huh* moment for me. If you’ve read and loved S Massery’s other stories, you’ll definitely vibe with this one, but it wasn’t for me.

The story it self wasn’t bad. It definitely had the potential to be so much better. I did almost DNF this book just because of the female Narrator. She was so nasally and had no emotion.

Umm wow just wow. This was an intense story. Check T/W. This story is about Sydney and her 3 men. The 3 men play hockey for rival collage teams. Sydney does something that gets her into trouble and ruins her life for a while. She goes to a really dark place after things happen. There is a lot of twist, turn, stocking, surprising, the spicy was good with a lot of kinks. Would I recommend this, Yes definitely. It does have dark elements so please be cautious. But i LOVED this audiobook and thought it was fantastic!!

Definitely a DARK romance with stalking, rape, sexual assault, bullying, depression, and a myriad of traumatic events. It was unpredictable with a few mysteries woven in.

such a good read! definitely heavy at times, but written so well. I could feel the FMC emotions throughout the book, which i loved!

The story starts like any other college bullying enemies to lovers. And then…. This story gets DARK & TWISTED. Multiple triggers throughout the entire book. There are more than a few surprises. The female voice actor speaks like maybe she’s wearing a retainer. Teddy of course was amazing I just wish there were more of the male voice actors. It was definitely worth the listen
