Acerca de esta escucha

The zombie plague has been contained, right?

Frank’s job is to patrol the fence that separates the living from the undead. It’s a boring job...at least it was until today. Has the true apocalypse finally arrived?

I loved this story! A very different and unique take on zombies. The story was well written, pulled at my heartstrings, and the narration was fantastic. I most definitely will be listening to more stories by this author. I was given a free copy for my unbiased review.

Such an unusual zombie story. Perfect in length and odd enough to elicit more reflection on the premise than I would have deemed possible. It was sadder than I would have thought also. Just a nice, unique, short zombie tale unlike any other I read before. Good stuff.

I've come to believe that Roma Gray can write, and write brilliantly, in any area she chooses. If the story says "by Roma Gray" I'll be in line to buy it. This one has excellent characters that pulled me into the story and set me up perfectly for the ending. And I like it like that. Thanks for the experience, Roma. This one may make you think about some things, too. It just may.

First off, I love the narrator. He does an amazing job with this short story. And the story....what an amazing tale. So different from other zombie stories I’ve read. Or listened to. I thought I knew what was up but no, I was way off. Imagine having to wear a hazmat suit, hot, miserable, walking your section of fencing, looking for zombie like people. Your fellow member tells you to watch closely. There is a child, with flowers for his Mom. And there the story takes an odd and sad turn. I can’t say more as I’ll give the story away. Just grab this and give a listen. You’re welcome.

A wonderfully different zombie tale

I received this audio book for free in exchange for my honest review. This is a cool new twist on the classic zombie tale that I'm certain you will enjoy. Both the writing and narration are flawless.

Very cool story!

One of the things I love about Roma Gray is that she always has a new take on an old trope. Zombies, no pun intended, have been done to death. Here, though, she takes everything you know about zombies and doesn't just throw it out the window, she launches it from a bazooka through the ceiling. Yep, you can still dies from the Zed menace, but not in the way that you think. These guys are harmless, they just stand around and graze all day, but if you get sick yourself, die, and become one of them too.

That is where this story comes into play. It is very human, deply visceral, and shows how humanity is its own worst enemy. Our kindness, and attachments, can be a detriment in some cases and here we learn a lot about love, and how it is truly blind. She really drive this point home, and reminds me of a story that she did called Homecoming. Both pieces reveal a lot about humanity and our short comings. This one deals with love, and the other dealt with how we ignore problems unless it affects us in some way. Both are very poignant.

I enjoyed Brett Schumacher's narration, and felt that he added to the gravitas of the situation by the way he handled the characters and infused emotion into the story. His words carried a lot of weight, and he did a great job. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. Getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Definitely a different take on the Zombie apocalypse!!! It's well written, unique and quirky and I enjoyed it. My heart broke for the boy!! It's only about 24 pages so it's extremely short but it's entertaining and that's what matters.

Brett Schumacher read this well. He was clear and easy to listen to and I enjoyed his performance too.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.

I love zombies short stories! A very original zombie story. I felt real sympathy for the fence guard, the boy, and for his mother.

Zombie short story

In this time where zombie stories seem the rage, and everyone has an opinion about how the outbreak occurs, Roma Gray shows us that the zombie's aren't just, pardon the expression, dead heads; they once belonged to someone... a mother or grandmother, wife. I liked that these weren't flesh-eating zombies. It had a unique, refreshing change.
