He fights loneliness and believes he is unique until he meets Poppy. She recognizes his struggle because she is like him, except that she is much older, remembering seven consecutive lives. But there is something else she must share with Evan - she is a member of the secretive Cognomina. They are, in effect, immortals - compiling experiences and skills over lifetimes into near superhuman abilities that they have used to drive history over centuries.

Poppy invites Evan into the Cognomina, but he must face their tests before entering this mysterious society as their equal.

As I sat here crocheting a triangle shawl, promising myself to go only so far then pause, I listened deeply. I became lost from the room surrounding me. Time was no longer of value and its restraints no longer bound me. I love the metaphysics of reincarnation and views set forth in this book. Im ready for new trips to come and hope they will.

I enjoyed the characters in this book and their philosophical musings that came from living multiple lifetimes and studying human nature and society. Good concept and loved the performance.

I found this plausible, mysterious, sensual and spiritual. I did recognize Bronson Pinchot as a reader, which perhaps made it more interesting.

At first it was hard to get into, but after the first couple hours, I was really hooked. It is a must read 😊.

What a great idea and book. Many elements of the story’s premise raised issues that require the reader to wonder “What if…?” It’s fantasy and of course hasn’t really happened and is unlikely to ever happen, but I loved falling into the imaginary world.

Narration was great. Characters were distinct.
Story line is brilliant. Characters are multilayered. I didn't want it to end. I truly hope this will be a series.
