Acerca de esta escucha

If you want to discover the captivating history of the Renaissance, then pay attention....

“Renaissance” is the French word for “rebirth,” which is given to the period of time between the 14th and 17th centuries in Europe when there was a marked resurgence in classical art, education, philosophy, architecture, and natural sciences.

At its heart, the Renaissance marked a widespread stability that Europe had not known for centuries, coupled with an inevitable desire of people everywhere to learn and express themselves. Education and economic stability transformed Europe into a beacon of high culture that eventually led to the Enlightenment and the Modern Age as we know it.

Just a concise overview of the Renaissance before you get into a more serious text - valuable, if you expect nothing beyond that.

Very Concise

Unique summary with relevant details and perceptive insights, especially covering significant personalities. Amazing book indeed.

Great Book

It was a fun enjoyable read with both the book and the audio going at the same time. Also liked the second volume. The Medieval World. Highly recommend. If you can get the audio with audible you'll enjoy that also. These names get very tough to pronounce correctly.

I enjoyed It

It is especially good for the student who might wish for more because it provides excellent context, which allows the lifelong learner to dive into certain areas without taking their deeper reading out of context.

Super

A short compressed study of the Renaissance in Europe and the various counties. As a student of the Renaissance, I liked the associations between the different countries.

To-The-Point

Listening to it now – This is a gifted writer with a touch that is both light and deep, something difficult to sustain. I look forward to buying and reading many more of her books.

Good

This book was so good I've bought a few more in the American Heritage series. If you want a good review of the Renaissance in Italy, then this is the ideal book for you.

Nice Audiobook

The chapters are relatively short and rotate around the world in a relatively chronological manner. The history is far from dry and often is downright funny. Bauer has quite a talent at telling a story. I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in history.

5 Stars

Had a lot of information on a kind of things. Could have been more -detailed, but a good start to learn more about the renaissance man.

A Lot Of Information

I was shocked by how easy it was to understand the Italian Renaissance. Some history books are an effort to digest, but this one was such a flurry I got myself caught up in it and finished it so early.

Very very Informative
