Took a couple of chapters to really get going and for the narrator to get comfortable with the author’s voice. After that, a great story with plenty of characters to love and hate and a story that grabbed hold and rode hard until the end.

Love Steven! The story may be great, but fire Thom Rivera!

Returning the book and won't do another with Rivera.

This is not my usual genre, but I actually kind of liked it. The number of deceptions by otherwise potentially reasonable characters was jaw-dropping. But the true friends pointed out were refreshing, and it was nice that EVERYONE did indicated the "hell in a hand basket" overall feeling.
There was definitely a realm of fear and stress, and there was a fair about of "can we really trust him?" The breathless situations kept the heart beating!

I love to listen to audio books while I run, especially fast paced, fun, and suspense filled ones. This fit the bill perfectly. I’m on my way after writing this review to buy the next in the series.

this book has an amazing story line. it was hard for me to stop listening it to one the book started. definitely recommend

hundreds of dead bodies of apparently totally inept "top notch mercenaries" who keep piling up as bad guys keep missing their target. Also, while bad guys are running corrupt structures, folks who execute their orders are all decent men, American citizens, former distinguished soldiers. Didn't feel like it was in good taste for the author to kill or badly injure so many of them with such glee. The narrator also did not make the book any favors. With that being said, I was intrigued by the action enough to make my commute seem to go faster.

So first off I’ll say I’ve been spoiled by some great narrators so Thom Rivera was ok but not great. Seemed flat at times. The story was good and lived up to the other stories from the author. I like his fast pace and details.

I like the way the story moves, just the right amount of backstop weaved expertly into the action so we know what Decker is thinking and what drives him forward.

What a treat indeed to enjoy a well-written thriller without blasphemy spewing out of all the “manly” characters’ mouths on every page as a sad-and-sorry substitute for effective written expression. 👏🥰
