Reseñas editoriales

Rebellion against a monarchy in favor of semi-popular elections. Massive infrastructure projects aiding in explosive commerce. Leaders despotic, benign, and martyred. Entanglements in foreign wars.

The above could be a description of the United States, Australia, France, or many other industrialized countries. It also fits the ancient Roman Empire, perhaps the greatest empire the world has ever seen. In this very brief audiobook, Leah Vandenberg’s pleasant Australian voice will guide the listener through the most significant milestones of Roman history. While only a cursory sketch, the information provided here may be of use to an armchair player of trivia games, or to a young student seeking a broader base of culturally significant knowledge.

"I'm learning all sorts of stuff about stuff I didn't even know I didn't know. And it sticks. In a nutshell: wonderful." (Jonathon Margolis, Financial Times)

I enjoyed the background noise/music as well as the information given. It is very short, it would be good for a short clip in a class but I wouldn't pay for this extra short clip.

Good information, good narrator!

This is a short summary of ancient Rome for children. There is a Naxos title on ancient Rome that I think is far better. Still this was okay given that it was complimentary, and I think some homeschoolers might appreciate it.

Decent Roman summary for children

Being interested in history, listened to this audio book which is more of a nice quick outline of once upon a time Roman Empire. Good to know a little about Roman Empire and probably will listen to another audio book that provides more knowledge.
