A man and a child are found slaughtered in a house in East London. A male youth is also found slaughtered in the ruins of the old leper hospital in Maldon, Essex. DI Anne Edwards can't see a link so why have the Met sent an officer to Maldon and why is DS Alice Porter so interested in him? Agnes Waterhouse is a self-proclaimed witch who grows strange plants in the grounds of the leper hospital. Is she involved in the youth's death? Or is the culprit, a ghost of a hooded monk seen by several people wandering the ruins at night?
