After Dan’s Christmas proposal to Amber, it is time to plan a wedding! More exciting news, Dan’s little sister Stacey is home, and after falling for the department’s new k9 handler, she plans to stay!
Unfortunately, Stacey didn’t come alone. She has a stalker who followed her home from California and trouble starts all over for this group.
As secrets unfold, Dan and Amber learn they are more connected than they ever realized and everyone is in more danger than before.
Dan has to crack his toughest case yet, as his own life and the lives of everyone he loves depend on it.
Sneak peek:
"Hey gorgeous," Dan said, kissing me hello. "How's my dad?" He asked, smiling at me.
"Yeah, we need to talk," I told him.
Everyone gathered around, concerned.
I looked at Dan, "Wait, how did you know?" I asked.
"It's my job to know." He replied.
"Well, I was going to tell you what just happened anyway. So your dad called me yesterday, said he wanted to talk to me about wedding plans and not to tell you. I thought he wanted to plan a wedding day surprise or something but not so much." Dan looked concerned.
I told him about the test, Then I told them of our conversation
Dan sunk into a chair. He and I just stared at each other. Ann and Mike had sad looks on their faces.
Carla, the preacher's kid, was the one who spoke up. "You know what happened here, right?”
"Your parents led you together from above,” She said. "You two have been bound by heaven. You're soulmates." She walked back into her office.
I was somewhat dumbfounded by Carla's announcement.
The bells on the door rang. Stacey came around the corner into the lobby. "Whoa, what's going on in here?" She asked, looking between us.
"You're here!" I yelled, jumping up to hug her.
Dan stood up, clearly confused. "Wait, what?" He said, a smile creeping across his face.
Stacey and I looked at him, our arms still around each other. "Surprise?" I said.
The full-blown dimpled smile appeared on Dan's face.
"Get over here, big brother!" Stacey told him.
"What are you doing here?" Dan asked her.
"Coming to visit my family, measuring your bride for her dress, and I have business to discuss with Dad." She answered.
"What business with Dad?" Dan asked.
"Really, Dan? Can't you just be happy to see me?" She rolled her eyes at her brother.
"Of course I'm happy to see you. And surprised." He turned to me. "You knew?"
"I asked her to let me surprise you." Stacey chimed in. "I'm sorry if it upset you.”
"Upset? No. My two favorite girls are here. How could I be upset?" He wrapped us both up again, and then I'm sure to teach us a lesson, he squished us both until we squealed.
"Let's get out of here," Ann said.
"You guys go. Take Stacey to my house. I have a few things to finish up here." I said.
"We can wait," Ann offered.
"No, Stacey looks exhausted. Get her settled in." I insisted.
"Alright, come on, girls, we will get the cruiser back to the station and head for home," Mike said, twirling the keys around his finger. Dan let out a sarcastic laugh at Mike for including him in with the girls.
Everyone headed out, and I headed to my desk. They were gone just a couple of minutes when I heard the bells on the door.
"What did you guys forget?" I called out. There was no answer.
"Hello?" I called out. No answer again.
I got up and looked around the lobby. The offices were locked, the entry was empty. I was confused until I looked at the door; there was a piece of paper on it. I got closer and read it.
”I'm here and watching."
