Acerca de esta escucha

Our dream home. A fresh start. But the house comes with secrets — and so do the neighbours.

The moment we moved in, I knew something was wrong. A cracked stove. Scribbles on the wall. The lights flicking off every evening — always at the same time. Our daughter crying in the night, pointing at the corner of her room. "She has no face."

Then I met Josie, the woman at No. 3.

Pale. Polite. Smiling. Obsessed. She knows things she shouldn't. Offers to babysit my daughter again and again. And when I told her no — she didn't like that.

Now the gifts are arriving. Notes through the door. A bottle left in the kitchen with no explanation. And my daughter won't stop screaming in her sleep.

Everyone thinks I'm imagining it. But I know what I saw. What I heard.

We finally found our dream home. But what if the nightmare lives next door . . . ?

There were twists that were very unexpected. Enjoyed it to the very end. Good listen!

cast performance was great

The voice actors did a beautiful job. I especially loved the eerie voices. The story might be predictable to some, but the author provides enough options to keep you guessing. I really felt like I was there in the heads of the characters. They felt real and relatable. While slightly anxiety provoking (due to the genre), it was a fun listen, and I would definitely recommend it!

Great storytelling

Tries so hard to have twists and turns, but all were very predictable. I liked the narrator for every character, but the little girl. I was already struggling to have any empathy for a child going through a very bad case of the terrible twos, and the narrators choice made her even more unlikable.
I really struggled to like any other character characters in the story (a personal hiccup of mine ), so I was hoping for a good ending that would make the hours listening a little bit more meaningful.
Overall, somewhat entertaining, but highly predictable way to kill 11 hours.

Tries So Hard

It was trying so hard to be suspenseful that it was just. Unrealistic and silly. I will say it had a very good ending but it was hard to get to

amazing voice action.

Author Rebecca Collomosse creates an intriguing and frightening mystery that I happily found in Audible Plus catalogue at no cost. I’ve been on a winning streak of Audible Plus offerings. From the first chapter to the last, not a dull moment. This story follows a family’s move to a new home, only to discover that the house and their neighbor, Josie, hold dark secrets. The narrators, Olivia Mace, Charlotte Worthing and Emma Noakes, bring the characters to life with their precise and engaging performances. The pacing is expertly handled, making it difficult to take a break. Collomosse's proficiency to craft a sense of unease and tension is impressive, and the subplot twists kept me audicted. I highly recommend “The Woman at No. 3” to fans of British domestic thrillers. The combination of a creepy atmosphere, mysterious events and neighbors’ unsettling presence makes this a riveting tale. Epic, indeed!

A devious thriller makes for a compelling listen

Two-year old children don't say, "Me want pink walls!" Journalists are usually good at reading people. Husbands don't like nags. Need I say more?

Trite. Predictable. Unrealistic. 🙄Groan!
