Great writing of this story with lots of detailed information I had never heard before.

Excellent telling of The Countess' Story

This short listen is one of the most intriguing and interesting historical stories I've come across. Who would have thought that a high born woman, Countess Maria Tarnowska, born 9 June 1877, of the Russian Empire could possibly have such evil within? But from a very young age, she did. Born to Count Nikolay Moritsevitch O'Rourke, a Russian naval officer of Irish ancestry and Ekaterina Seletska, a noblewoman of Cossack origin. she caught and captured the attention of Russian aristocrat Wassily Tarnowski, She married him when she was seventeen years old, and had two children with him. But her philandering began almost immediately . . . and it came before everything else in her life, even her children. The author did an exemplary job of detailing the escapades of the young Maria and her flings, which got more and more bizarre . . . and deadly. I had never heard of Countess Maria Tarnowska before this short listen. Suffice to say, I won't long forget her now.

Countess Maria Tarnowska's Tale of Lust and Murder

Short story but very intriguing. Her exploits were highly controversial especoally given the time frame. Amazing that suitors of all walks of life fell prey to her beauty, intelligence, and sensuality. Some would kill themselves or kill others to prove their devotion to her, disgrace/ abandon their families and their livelihoods to be with her. And what's
extremely remarkable is she had no empathy or remorse for her actions.

True psychopath
