A very powerful important book about growing of age in a tough part of Glasgow. The narrator is also the writer and the dialogue is fantastic, even though I am from Glasgow I know I missed a lot. A modern day Trainspotting. Highly recommended on all fronts.

I absolutely loved this book! Not only was it insightful , but for me it had a certain level of nostalgia. I may be biased as I know some of the characters and areas the Author mentioned in the story ( the “Mansion” was right behind my childhood home) but as someone who experienced that gang mentality, the description of the sensation Armstrong names “ the Friday feeling” was a real one and I think one that many young men growing up in working class towns experience. Amazing boom Greame

A vivid insight into western Scottish culture of the 90s and noughties
