"But my wits hadn't served me well in this instance, for here I was, in jail. And while I could have seen it as carrying on the family tradition (Grandma Bebe landed in jail for her support of Prohibition), the truth is, my reasons for being here would probably break her heart.
"So how did I end up becoming a criminal? I've been pondering that question all night. Perhaps the best way to search for an answer is to start at the very beginning."

This required review interrupted my program and doesn’t generate customer favor. I think reviews should be offered, not demanded.

I liked the complete story of Beatrice.Have you listened to any of Pam Turlow’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I'm not sure if I've listened to her or not. I loved all of Lynn Austin's other audiobooks. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Generations of women.Any additional comments?
This did not move along as smoothly as Lynn's other works, but I am glad I read it. I don't like to miss any of my favorite author's books. Not her best novel.

Would you try another book from Lynn Austin and/or Pam Turlow?
Lynn Austin- yes, Pam Turlow- noWho was your favorite character and why?
I liked the characters, but it was very hard to think about how they SHOULD have sounded with the narration. How did the narrator detract from the book?
She used a sickening sweet, melodramatic & child like voice that just irritated throughout a good story.Do you think Though Waters Roar needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
The performance was so bad that I stopped and started the reading several times over many weeks. I am currently forcing myself past the last half.Any additional comments?
Such a shame, I usually enjoy Lynn Austin's books & have listened to many titles before.Good story but annoying performance
