This is basically a re-hash of many well-know cases in Cali. The bloke is actually a serviceable writer, but apparently lacks the will or ability to get the facts straight...and...or...relies too much on current "progressive" tropes about racist society. Here are two examples from the book that I found particularly egregious.

1). The Laci Peterson story. The author claims that Evelyn Hernandez's murder was overshadowed by Laci's murder (which were, incidentally, very similar in premise and execution) because Laci was WHITE and Evelyn was a immigrant of Hispanic descent. Well, Laci's maiden name was ROCHA, which is also Hispanic, and one look at ANY picture of Laci will immediately illustrate she is not "the average Caucasian." The author wants to incorrectly and unnecessarily assert that there was societal racism in the way the cases were processed, and perceived. Blame the MEDIA, not the public. We the taxpayer don't pick and choose what information ABC chooses to slather over us. You want to whine about society, fine, we don't have to participate in your delusion.

2). The Santa Rosa Hitch Hiker Murders. The author did an especially poor job with the facts of these cases. He was wrong about many things he spewed here, but perhaps the worst was concerning Laurie Lee Kursa. The states that the 13 year old runaway was last seen leaving her home near Sebastopol, CA, when in fact she was with her mother at a store and walked away from her mother. Also, the author states the girl was raped, but her autopsy revealed she has not been sexually active or assaulted. What gives? That has been common knowledge for FIFTY TWO YEARS. AND, he conveniently left out that Laurie was seen being dragged by two men into a van BY SEVERAL WITNESSES, at an busy intersection not too far from where her body was later found.

I take umbrage to his lackadaisical attitude with facts, when the purpose of this should be to HELP HONOR THE VICTIMS and perhaps encourage memories or emotions that could help in the cases...not just make money by putting your half-baked effort(s) on Audible.

I got this far and decided that if he was so lazy and shiftless, I would not finish this book. Luckily enough, it was a "freebee" because of my subscription, so all I wasted on this half-ass effort was time.

I won't be reading any of his other "works."

Oh, and the VIRTUAL VOICE is awful. Stop it. Hire a reader or do it yourself. Another example of "you're only in it for the money."

Author is lazy and "progressive."
