Stephen L. Gibson
Acerca de esta escucha
Gibson guides us on a compelling journey through case studies and examples of our human tendencies toward emotion-driven thinking, ranging from simple beliefs in Santa Claus and psychic nonsense, to fears of crime waves and vaccine risks unfounded in science and reason.
Beyond the entertaining anecdotes, Gibson illustrates the larger point that only by acting upon true facts, as opposed to untrue conventional wisdom, can we maximize goodness and minimize devastating unintended consequences.
Read by Stephen Gibson and unabridged, the audiobook includes excerpts from Steve's interviews with three very special authors and scholars, whose credible and thorough research supports Steve's central thesis that conventional wisdom can be more conventional than wise. Hear Steve's message along with extended interviews with best-selling authors and commentators Dr. Barry Glassner, Stephen Moore, and James Randi.

I doubt you'll hear anything new. Also, 90% of this book is rear view mirror stuff. Y2K fear? Was that irrational? Nobody really knew what was going to happen until passed---sure, heading to the bomb shelter with a year's supply of food might have been nutty---but if you didn't do that, you don't need this book.
Yawn.
Too Basic, Dull
