I've read a few reviews of people not liking the book, but I'm never one to go by reviews on books because I seem to find something I like in everything read. I'm a long time fan of the Twilight series so I was pretty excited when I found out about this anniversary treat.

The story plays along the same lines as the original Twilight with quite a few gender roles flip flopped. Some do remain the same though. Many of the same scenes were repeated with the flipped roles. Some dialogue was different. Towards the very end of the book things take a turn and the it ends differently than the original Twilight. I enjoyed the twist but it made me a little sad too for the lack of closure. I'd actually enjoy more if the story went further.

I liked the narrator, Michael Crouch. I hadn't heard him before and I enjoyed his performance. I would listen to more of his work.

If you like Twilight, I think you may enjoy this. To me, it was worth the credit.

The book was Twilight with the names and genders changed till the end of the book. I imagine it was one of the easiest books to write. After listening to Life and death I had no interest I'm hearing Twilight again because of repetitiveness.

Although it was the same story, it was interesting to see the gender roles switched for the main characters. It gave the story a new life. Still very enjoyable. Recommended listen!

I absolutely LOVE Life&Death!! I started listening to the Twilight series while driving a semi-truck over the road. Life and Death was especially cool! and I'm a 47 year old man!!!!

surprisingly I really loved Life and Death. I think it was even better than the original Twilight. Beau was a much more likable character than Bella. I honestly never liked how the original series ended anyway. I thought the whole Bella pregnancy was ridiculous. I think Life and Death was a much more satisfying story and ending. it's definitely worth a listen.

You have to take Life and Death for what it is. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t come into it expecting it to be wildly different than Twilight or with a critical mindset. It was interesting and amusing. I really liked Beau as a character. However, if I had heard the narrator of the original Twilight in the sample, I probably wouldn’t have purchased this. I listened to the whole thing, mostly because I was half listening while I worked, but the narration was distracting from the story up to the very end. The narrator didn’t seem to have an understanding of the characters or how they would say things. She reads Bella in a very immature way. (I don’t agree with the comment that she read her as a Valley Girl, but I also don’t think it’s that far off.) Some of the characters pronounce Bella with a weird emphasis on the ‘la’ that I just couldn’t get used to. I think what it really boiled down to, was that it felt more like someone reading a story to a young child. I still like the story. I just don’t see myself buying the rest of the series in audio format with this narrator.

Liked the new story, poor narration of the original

I much liked the original, than the gender swap one. It was just weird. It was written well, of course, but it was odd to think of Bella as Bo. And the dynamic between the couples was use not the same. Much prefer the regular. It was great that both come in the set.

loved the narrator. was interested in this twist but it can be silly, particularly the end. I suppose it's appropriate but it almost seemed abrupt.

Loved it! Such a wonderful love story. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has not read the series.
