Jane Pendley’s (Slide Rock State Park) fairy tale life in Oak Creek Canyon. Ermelinda Zanzucchi came from Italy to the mining town of Jerome. Gracie Hatcher, along with five small children, fled an abusive marriage and racial prejudice in Louisiana. Fan favorite Elizabeth Heiser was a colorful woman who spent a winter alone with her horses at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
