I feel like most dungeon core books are one of two things poorly written, but great concept or well written with a slow boring story. It’s rare you find one that’s well paced well written great concept and exciting to listen to once I started this book I didn’t put it down till it was over. I hope to see 10 more books in this series in the near future. It was that good! Also, the narrator for this book was perfect!

this isn't really unique as far as stories go but i was invested and enjoyed it more than many other dungeon core stories out there

I didnt know what to think starting when i started this series but this just reminds me of the devine fungeoun series. Fun and interesting to listen to. I would definetly get a second book in this series. Guild politica and system mysteries made for a fun book.

It's just a little burn, great potential. I found it wasn't something for me, but at the same time, I could respect that the author was doing something very interesting and that well it was slower than I'm used to I could listen to it. When blazing by their pool at summer time, it's one of those ones that Comes out of left field and at times you just wanna close it up. But then it draws you back. So don't expect to listen to it all at once if you're into this genre, and you like the fast pace action, that's not this one this is the one that you listen to take a break. This is something else.Thank you.We'll come back to so that you can get the full impact of it

Now, i am a picky #$%(* my words, not yours relax. So when I say this book is fire... another comment said (paraphrasing) "dungeon core books are either poorly written and a good story; or a somewhat decent written book but the story was designed by a glue gobbler" this book has a proper story and good writing. OH and my beloved foreshadoing. plenty of that!

it's similar to alot of dungeon builders but has its own unique take that I love so far

great start but I want more

Very basic dungeon. The dungeon is coming into being and the story is it experiencing the world for first time and doing whatever the system offers as a way of discovering the world.

The dungeon seems to be led by system into an undead, bat monster, haunted dungeon theme versus the dungeon purposefully pursuing an end.

I can't help to compare this to Hugo Huesca's "Dungeon Lord" series about another "Haunted" dungeon, it is leagues beyond in the story telling and the stategy of the dungeon. I think the main difference is that the protagonist is driven by motivations and survival to succeed. In this the dungeon just does stuff because it is the next step. The other aspect is this story is about the core interacting with the system, Hugo Huesca's "Dungeon Lord" is about the Dungeon Lord interacting with the world.

Could have done without the incessant self introspection and added more decicivness. dont really care about how he came to a logical conclusion when it is the logical conclusion. It is a waste of time to ponder on unlikely hypotheticals. Narrator is partly to blame as he tends to end statements with an upward lilt as if they are unsure or questioning rather than making a statement. Lots of the standard "let's keep everything secret" trope. You can drop the justifications for the secrets as we all know its to add suspense at the unknown and increase word count by dancing around possibilities when a simple question just being answered. I in particular despise that trope with a burning passion. I will not continue with this series because of that as it seems he is more likely to double down on that trope than change.

Worth the purchase if you dont mind the keeping secrets trope
