My name is Addison Holmes, and I teach history at James Madison High School in Whiskey Bayou, Georgia. You might be under the assumption that my life went to the dogs when my fiancé left me at the altar for the home economics teacher, or when I got notice that my apartment building was going to be condemned, or even when I was desperate enough to strip to my unmentionables to earn some extra cash. The truth is that I'm pretty much used to disasters following me around on a daily basis, but I could have gone without finding my principal dead in the parking lot of a seedy gentlemen's club.
After the initial shock of finding my first dead body, which included throwing back shots of Jack Daniels like it was water, I decided to take stock of my life. I was in a desperate situation and if the school board ever found out I'd been a stripper, even a bad stripper, I'd be jobless as well as fiancé-less and homeless.
Fortunately, I had a friend who felt sorry enough for me to give me a job doing some surveillance work at her detective agency. Not to mention the fact that I was now able to stick my nose into other people's business for a good cause, find a murderer, and pick up helpful tips from an incredibly attractive detective. Come check out my story and be thankful your life is relatively normal.

A fun read, and an enjoyable audio book. Thus is not great literature, but it's definitely entertaining. I look forward to the rest of the series.
Stephanie Plum fans have a new heroine

WARNING: I use the word "fun" a lot in this review but seriously it was FUN!
First Thought When Finished: That was totally fun! I needed a light, fun mystery and this filled the spot :)
Story Thoughts: This was just downright a delightful mystery with some pretty good twists and turns! It took me a little bit to get totally caught up in the mystery but once I did, I had fun trying to figure it out. Those are my favorite kinds of mysteries--the ones that you want to figure out. This one, I only got partially right but all the clues were there. The story was plotted out well by Liliana and gave you all the clues to play sleuth along with Addison. Darn it all that I couldn't figure it out before the end :)
Character Thoughts: Holy walking disaster and oh-so fun to read: Addison Holmes is all that and more. I mean how often do you meet a high school teacher who can get themselves into so much trouble? Seriously, right out of the gate this girl is pretty much in one jam or another. She is smart and resourceful but I love that she is full of faults. I kind of would love to be her BFF! She is great leading lady for this story and I hope there are many more mysteries to come!
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated by Connie Ventress / Running Time 7 hrs and 10 mins
Connie did a wonderful job with the narration! I thought the pacing, accents, and emotions were delightful. I will probably continue this series on audio if available.
Final Thoughts: I really enjoyed this mystery and think it would appeal to fans of the Stephanie Plum series (no love triangle which makes it even better in my book). FUN FUN FUN!
Fun! Fun! Fun!

Where does Whiskey Rebellion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I think you get used to the southern accent and the inflections were funny. The reader did a good job. What was one of the most memorable moments of Whiskey Rebellion?
I think finding the body and the whole description of the experience in the stripper bar left me laughing. What about Connie Ventress’s performance did you like?
The matter of factness in the funny situations that happened ever so often just kept me in hysterics. If you could rename Whiskey Rebellion, what would you call it?
Not sure.....I think the name is cleaver and apply named.Any additional comments?
Can't wait to hear Whiskey Sour.Hysterical....reminded me of my southern friends

If you want to laugh yourself silly, you need this book! Full of situational and verbal humor, more twists than a Dairy Queen cone, and thwarted acts of space invaders. The town of Whiskey Bayou is home to a history teacher turned stripper (not a good idea) turned consultant to her best friend's investigation agency who is also a royal klutz and seems to keep finding trouble and corpses. And then there's the Savannah cop who wants more than her testimony!
I lucked out and got this as Whispersync on the cheap courtesy of Book Gorilla.
Connie Ventress did a marvelous audio interpretation.
Great laugh therapy!
