Rose Evans is off limits.
She's young, impulsive and my best friend's little sister.
Now I'm stuck with her as my assistant.
And something tells me I'm not the only one willing to cross the line.
---
Wilder
My brother is out of commission, so I'm left running our ranch on my own all summer. Or at least I was until my best friend proposed hiring his wild-child sister from the East Coast.
It seems perfect . . . until her first day.
Because the Rose I once knew is all grown up. Petite, mouthy . . . with sinful emerald eyes that don't cower at my scowls. She knocks the breath right out of me. And not just because she keeps crashing into me at work.
But there's more to this spitfire than she's seen for. And I want it all.
Rose
This summer is a chance to slow down, breathe, reset . . . and let go of a past that follows me like a shadow.
Instead, I get a grumpy boss with buttons too easy to press.
He thinks I like getting into trouble. He's addicted to saving me. And the more he does, the easier it is to trust him-with every part of me.
But his own heart is locked up tight.
I only have a few weeks left. Will they be enough for him to ask me to stay?
Wild Rose is the first book in the steamy and highly addictive Blue River Springs series, featuring grumpy cowboys who love wildly and protect fiercely. If you love Lyla Sage, Elsie Silver and Jessica Peterson, Roxanne Tully's small-town cowboy romance series will have you head over boots.
Tropes:
Cowboy x city girl
Grumpy x sunshine
Brother's best friend
Age gap
Ranch romance

Rose is seen as the wild child after impulsively dropping out of college just short of finishing to be an artist and bartending at night. Wilder is the grumpy owner of the Blue River Ranch where her brother is the head chef. Her brother is concerned for her and takes the opportunity to move her back home for the summer when Wilder needs help with the ranch. Rose’s wild ways don’t stop when she gets to the ranch. Working in close proximity to Wilder increases the sexual tension, making the push and pull between them feel like foreplay.
Dual narration by Ada Sinclair and Davis Brooks. I haven’t listened to much by Ada, and this was my first book by Davis. These two delivered and really brought these complex characters to life. Rose comes across as wild, but she has a history that she is struggling with and trying to find her way. Ada delivered all the sass, humor and sunshine Rose uses as a shield. But you felt her vulnerability dealing with her past and her strength to work through it. Davis was fantastic as the gruff cowboy taking the world on his shoulders while being torn between his attraction to Rose and his loyalty to her brother. Then showing the softer, tender side caring for Rose and his family.
This story has heart, the characters are complex, well written, and there is much more to their story. It’s not only Wilder and Rose, but I enjoyed exploring the relationships with their siblings. Plus, it’s fun when you get a familiar visit from Hideaway Springs. I look forward to the rest of the series.
Nice start to a new series.
