This was very elementary.

The series has good story lines, but the 'virtual voice' is awful! Due to the AI choosing the pronunciation. Words such as read, lead, resume, and similar words are ready incorrectly a lot. Sentences such as ' we have a lead' are read as 'we have a lead', or 'You should read the report' became 'you should red the report'. phrasing that a person would automatically read, not 'red'. There is also a problem with emotions within scenes. AI just can not quite convey sadness, frustration, fear or jubilation. I listened to the entire set because I had it. However, I would have skipped it if I had known it was AI reading. Books 8. AI 4.

The series has good story lines, but....

The story was good. Quirky and funny. Unfortunately the decision to narrate this story with AI significantly reduced the experience. It’s just missing nuances, inflections, emotion, not to mention the numerous mispronunciation of words throughout. AI may be the future but it’s definitely NOT the present.

I'm not sure if it was due to typing errors or if the AI made errors but there were several, especially with pronouns.
Also, the stories were very predictable especially with Meg running to the back of properties. 🙄
Oh, a 3rd thing: Why would the charactec "wonder" when they are saying something or ask a question? That was very annoying throughout the books.

At first it wasn't easy to get used to the AI voice. But it became a "norm". The mysteries were good and I liked the characters. The new witch is a nice addition and I can't wait to see what the two of them will get into.

another unbelievable story of a policeman (or men) allowing an untrained woman to work on or solve cases. the virtual voice AS USUAL mispronouncing words or leaving words out and screwing up words i.e. suspect it is pronounced SUSpect not susPECT, to mention a few..

The story is ok, but I could not finish after 1.5 books because the computer generated audio was too distracting. Prefer actual human narration that has real acting and feeling. The story was lacking the immersion that I feel when a human narrates.

I hate the AI narration

Story is interesting but the AI voice while pleasant has no emotional emphasis, so it feels wrong when it's talking about a murder mystery in a bland neutral passive voice.

the story was the same set up except different friend, there was no lead up. Just awful 😖

worst narration ever

I struggle through the 1st book hoping that the reader and content would improve but sorry to say it did not. The dialogue reads like an elementary school reader…see dick run. The vocal performance is stale and slow. Definitely not for me.

Was excited about a witch detective series.
