Acerca de esta escucha

Do you want to give the readers such a vivid experience that they feel the events of the story are real and they're right there? Do you want them to forget their own world and worries, and live in the main character's head and heart?

The magic wand for achieving this is Deep Point of View.

Readers love it, because it gives them the thrill of becoming a different person. The reader doesn't just read a story about a gladiator in the arena, an heiress in a Scottish castle, an explorer in the jungle, a courtesan in Renaissance Venice - she becomes that gladiator, heiress, explorer, or courtesan.

In this book, I'll reveal the powerful techniques employed by best-selling authors, and I'll show you how to apply them to rivet your readers. I'll start with the basics of Point of View - if you're already familiar with the concept, you can treat them as a refresher - and then guide you to advanced strategies for taking your reader deep.

This is not a beginners' book. It assumes that you have mastered the basics of the writer's craft and know how to create compelling fictional characters. If you like, you can use this book as a self-study class, approaching each chapter as a lesson and completing the assignments at the end of each session.

As a beginning author this book was incredibly helpful. It showed me many of the simple mistakes I was making in my writing and how to easily correct them. The information is well presented and the narration is pleasant and engaging. Five stars, highly recommended!

Very helpful and informative

Now I have to rewrite my book. I thought I was done, I thought my story was well written, nope. I'm certain that it will be amazing once I apply what I learned here.

professional writing advice

There are good information that is worth the time and price of this audiobook. The narration though is too fast and sounds too excited throughout the book, making it difficult to enjoy and learn from the listen. Maybe a physical copy is better.

It's good.

Out of all the fiction writing books you only need these two, Save the cat writes a novel, and the great courses by Bell.

I didn’t know if Rayne’s audiobooks would be useful on top of the books about structure, but they are crucial. have listened 3x to each. Wish there was a pdf.

Both of Rayne’s books are essential for writers

Straight forward knowledge and practice without judgement. Beautifully told and enjoyable short story examples at the end are motivating. Loved it.

clear help for authors

Worth the time when coupled with the ideas of other writers with regard to DPV. It can be a writing rabbit hole if you do not implement it in a way that fits your style.

A well done explaination

Excellent info, great narration and a must for new writers. I'd like to have more of her books on audible.

Short and compact.

I started by liking the book. It has some solid advice on deep POV and good writing principles simply put with clear examples. That was until I got to the chapter on male vs female POV. It had so many stereotypes it turned me off. Listened to the rest of the book after, but couldn't get rid of the unpleasant feeling that chapter gave me and started noticing other biases present in the book.

I'd still recommend to read it to learn more on deep POV if you can separate the prejudice from actual useful advice.

Lots of Gender Stereotypes

I cannot believe I wrote for so many years without her books! And grateful at least two are in audio format. Yay! Now I can listen to over and over so they really sink in. Thank you so much and keep writing these so I get better.

I am blown away. Incredible book

A short listen, and worth reviewing from time to time to brush up. There is enough material here not covered in the same way elsewhere to make it a valuable resource. Also, the reader is excellent, British, and female, like the author - always a good combination.

Good material, a keeper!
