Written by an outstanding scholar, the language is simple yet eloquent, and draws young readers into the story with superb dialogue, vivid description, and careful attention to the flow of events. The skillful blending of Shakespeare's own lines with modern language and illuminating information enhances youngsters' involvement and comprehension.
There's background on Shakespeare and the play, answers to FAQs, and a Who's Who of the characters.Young Reader's Shakespeare is a powerful experience.

We listened to MacBeth over two sessions during a long car ride. All three of us (ages 8 to 40) were enthralled - completely caught up in this gripping tale that at least one of us knew would end very, very badly. The adaption is careful and faithful to the original. The narration is professional, seamless and stirring. Overall, the quality of this audiobook surpasses other Shakespeare adaptions and, for that matter, all other youth selections I've purchased on Audible.
I had to pause the recording occasionally to explain certain terms and situations ("what's a thane?" "who's MacDuff?"), but I didn't mind. You wouldn't want your kids listening to a Shakespeare so dummied down that there's no 'splainin' to do. Besides, it's worth a little work to hear your ten-year-old spontaneously quote the greatest writer who ever lived. "Double, double, toil and trouble..."
My whole family enjoyed this high quality product - listen to it together!
Accessible and Thrilling

I was going to see McBeth on stage and thought it would be a good idea to brush up on the characters and dialogue between them so that when I saw it live I could follow along more easily. The author did a great job with this and also filling in a lot of the gaps so that this read like a novel.
Definitely recommend this
Good way to brush up on Macbeth before seeing it live
