Acerca de esta escucha

An infant bottle-feeding aversion is one of the most complex, stressful, and confusing situations parents could face. Baby becomes distressed at feeding times and refuses to feed or eats very little despite obvious hunger. Why won't he/she eat? This is a question parents ask numerous health professionals while searching for a solution.

Babies are typically diagnosed with one, two, or three medical conditions to explain their aversive feeding behavior during brief appointments. Unfortunately, behavioral causes are often overlooked. Consequently, many parents don't receive an effective solution from the health professionals they consult. This is why this book is so necessary.

In Your Baby's Bottle-feeding Aversion, Rowena describes the various reasons babies display aversive feeding behavior, explains how the listener can identify the cause and describes effective solutions. Included are step-by-step instructions on how to resolve a behavioral feeding aversion that occurs as a result of being repeatedly pressured to feed—the most common of all reasons for babies to become averse to bottle-feeding. Your Baby's Bottle-feeding Aversion provides practical professional feeding advice that not only makes good sense, it works!

This method worked like a charm and completely transformed our feeding experience. Could not recommend more.

I learned my baby has a feeding aversion from reading this book. I couldn't figure out why my 2nd baby would scream each time I put him in a cradle position. I listened to this book when he was almost 4 months old and started really following the cues from my baby regarding hunger and sleep and it's worked well. I also learned I have lean babies which made me feel more comfortable with them being lower on the growth charts. I wasn't sure if this book would help me because my baby doesn't really use a bottle but it is helping and well worth a read if you think your baby may have a feeding aversion.

This book gets a lot of praise - all for good reason! My little one developed a bottle feeding aversion at 3 months old. He suffered from a few health issues at birth that saw him in the NICU for 3 weeks. He was tube fed during that time but a happy little eater once he was introduced to the bottle (I was sadly never able to BF). He was born small but gaining weight beautifully and normally. However, doctors and dieticians kept ramming it in our heads that he could be picking up weight faster to catch up to his peers. As a result we fortified his formula and put loads of pressure on him to finish a bottle. As a result, the poor little guy started associating feed times with trauma and slowly stopped taking more and more to the point we were in crisis mode. We took him to the paed who said it was simply his reflux flaring, and to up his dose of Nexium. This was no help as his aversion continued. After another desperate day of feeding I came across this book on a Reddit thread. I was battle fatigued and desperate, shattered that my baby wouldn’t eat. I said we’d try the method, and give it a shot, before taking him to hospital where we knew he’d inevitably be put on a tube due to his history. We followed the guidelines to a T, and after 4 days we turned the corner. Baby started smiling at the bottle and he was now asking for food. We heard his hunger cries for the first time in ages! We are on day 5 and his intake was double what it was when we started. And we hope it’ll keep getting better from here. We did try the method for two weeks prior but it wasn’t working as I believe we weren’t following the golden rules properly. We were relying too heavily on dream feeds so he didn’t progress. As soon as we followed the program 100%, we noticed the shift. Just be warned that the first 3-4 days are brutal. You will panic that baby is starving but just rest assured it’s temporary and they will push past. My husband, baby and I owe so much to Rowena and this book! I can’t recommend it enough.
