Jack Kershaw just wants to hold on to his new job at Lisa Alioto's pizza parlor, and to keep Lisa from finding out that he's a zombie. Jack learns that he and Lisa are in serious danger.
His second chance at life is the inadvertent result of a lab experiment by two graduate students. Winthrop University - a school which knows how to keep its secrets - will do anything necessary to conceal that someone on campus raised the dead. With the help of Boston's zombie horde, can Jack and Lisa escape Winthrop's sinister clutches?

What made the experience of listening to Zombies in Love the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the story, as well as the narration. This was a very refreshing addition to the zombie collection I've collected over the last couple of years. It's a fun, interesting, new, and full of action story that many people would find entertaining.Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Jack, the main character. He isn't the "over-the-top" alpha male that's in a lot of zombie books, and seem relate-able in several ways.Any additional comments?
I received a copy of this title for an honest review.Very refreshing zombie story

Would you listen to Zombies in Love again? Why?
Maybe...it was a cute story, with a great outlook on zombies, and powerful universities..and how people can change...What was one of the most memorable moments of Zombies in Love?
When Lisa runs into the police station in her car, she was a delight...so courageous and down to earth...Have you listened to any of Martin Wurst’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I totally would...really good narration....2 thumbs up!!!Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have!!Any additional comments?
** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **This is a unique story and outlook on zombies...We have Jack who was murdered by a family member and comes back to discover, that he is now a zombie...he eats dead people!! He escapes to another city and is working for Lisa the owner of a pizza parlor....Lisa is a simple woman, and she accidentally walks in on Jack eating an arm and shoots his head off! lol Well of course he doesn't die, and she gets really freaked out... but curiosity wins over and she learns Jack's story...and they then fall in love!! There is more to this story than that, a conspiracy theory or 2...and an Evil University with a huge supernatural past that continues to this day...really nice light listen, with fun characters and a great flow..very much well worth your time and a credit!

Audiobook narrator Martin Wurst rating: 4 stars
I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I went into this book thinking that it was going to be a funny and cheesy zombie novel with slapstick humor (I am not sure why I thought this but those were my thoughts). I was pleasantly surprised while reading (listening) through this book that not only was there some humor but it was very well written and very intelligent as well.
I thought this book ended up having an interesting plot line that surprised me and I like how it developed. There were some good twists as well as good humor. I thought the audiobook narrator did a good job as well. He changed his voices for different characters, which helped to differentiate.
My only complaint about the book was the transition between ‘scenes’. I am not sure if it was because of how the book was narrated but it wasn’t always clear to me when we went from one story line to a completely different one. I also though there were a lot of characters. I understood who most of them were but it would help me more if some of the characters were re-introduced or at least explained again, who they were.
There was another thing that I wasn’t sure about and it’s kind of bothering me but I think I understood. I may have missed something in the story somewhere. Was the “Winthrop University” in the book supposed to be Harvard in real life? I understand that there are a lot of South Carolina ties and the author’s note at the end states that she went to Winthrop but I felt a little lost in this aspect. (Unless I understood it correctly).
All in all this was a great, short book and I look forward to seeing future books from Nora Fleischer. Thanks for the free audiobook copy!
Fun, short, zombie book!

Would you consider the audio edition of Zombies in Love to be better than the print version?
Yes, but simply because the narrator did a great job with the story provided. It had to be entertaining before the audio conversion which it definitely is.Who was your favorite character and why?
I enjoyed Jake, because he's the poster child for second chances even if this is a different kind of second chance than most people would expect.Have you listened to any of Martin Wurst’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I would not hesitate to if the opportunity presented itself. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The title of my review, or some variation on it. It's the name of a book of zombie parody love songs my mom got me for christmas a while back.Any additional comments?
I received the audio version for this book for free in exchange for an honest review. If you're considering this but don't want to read about icky zombie love I would highly suggest you reconsider. It might be an odd situation but it has heart (even if one of them isn't working). I found it very unique from what I normally find myself listening to.Every zombie needs somebody sometime

Martin Wurst is almost perfect in this book. He is a 4,4 out of 5, so almost over the magic 4,5 that would get this book full score. He reads this in a right pace, right accent and just the right voice. The only thing negative is that i need some more variety! So that is the only way i could say something bad.

I really liked both of the main characters. Jack and Lisa both have some issues to deal with but they are much like everyone else trying to make ends meet. Jack has a few more issues than Lisa though, one of which is discovered nearly straight away. He’s a zombie. He also eats flesh. He does still hold onto a job and walk around talking to other people, so give a guy a break, right?!
Lisa now owns her parents’ pizza shop and is struggling to keep their memory alive. She wants everything to be just how they left it, which was not with zombies eating humans in the back store room! The way she discovers Jack is great. I hope I have what it takes to do what she does. What’s weird is that these zombies can heal so although Lisa is a bad ass, Jack heals pretty quickly from his wound. Otherwise, we would have no story.
The thing I did not like about this, and sadly it is prominent, is the school. Every scene with the school had me wanting to fast forward through the book. I don’t know why but these parts, and there are many, seemed to slow the story down. They explain some of the zombie virus (sort of) but other than that, the professor and his entire attitude really threw me off. I still don’t understand that character or why so much of the story surrounds him.
Fortunately, I was more into the love birds than I was worried about the school. It is in quite a bit of the book and I kept having to drag myself back into the story, but it was worth it. I loved how this ended!
The audio by Martin Wurst was very well done although I noticed a few times where a voice of one character would extend to another character. This happens with even the best of narrators so it did not mess with the story but possibly could have been cleaned up a bit. The narration was spot on and all the voices were great. The audio sounded crisp and other than those few points with the voices, I did not notice anything that would mess the story up or bring a listener out of the audio.
In short: Really cute story! I was pleasantly surprised. It still is not my favorite zombie story, there are many greats out there, but it was better than I imagined.

This was a fun, lighthearted book! I listened to it all in one day.
The narrator did a find job. My only critiques are that he made Lisa sound too whiny at times and he should have changed the voices more. When the story line changed characters from Lisa & Jack to the other couple, it was hard to tell who was talking at times.
The story was great. I mean, it's no award winning work of art, but it was fun and an entertaining read. I would like for this to be the start of a series! How great would that be!?!
Well, now the elephant in the room........what is up with the cover? Is that suppose to be Lisa, looking like a burly mountain man? And the cover Jack isn't the handsome shorty from the book.

I listened to the audiobook of this story and it keeps you glued from the beginning to the end. This story is written in multiple points of view with each character telling their story of what's happening. You have so much going on and the many different characters brings this story to a ending that is a surprise. The many twist and turns during this book will make you not stop until you finish. What I loved the best in this story is that even with a Zombie outbreak, you can find love in the least expected way. This author's writing of a Zombie tell is unique and surprisedly different which makes this story stand out and keeps you reading or listening until the last page.Unique Zombie Story
