    May 22 2025

Summer is here! (Or almost here!) Even if your personal schedule isn't dictated by a school calendar, life generally looks different in the summer as many activities take breaks or change their schedules. If you've found a cleaning or decluttering routine that works, or you feel like you're finally gaining some much-coveted traction, this can be scary. So let's talk about what to do and where to focus during out of routine times.

  • 455: Kids, In-laws, Laundry, and More Questions Answered
    Apr 24 2025

I’m answering your decluttering questions that were submitted at AskDanaKWhite.com

    • If I want to declutter something but I also want to rearrange a room how do I avoid pulling everything out?
    • How do I handle items that don't fit into the desired container even if it were empty?
    • We are overflowing with kids books. What questions should I ask (and have my kids ask themselves) to decide which to keep and which to donate?
    • My in laws house is jam packed. We will have the burden of cleaning it out. They have trouble with step 1 trash. Do I keep trying to encourage the steps or simply accept this as my burden?
    • We need laundry tips: we cloth diaper a newborn and have to be doing laundry everyday, so laundry day isn’t an option right now.
    • How do you do Step 1 (Trash), when there is, for example, a deep box of stuff, or a precarious pile of stuff?

  • 454: Tackling a Space Full of Generational Clutter
    Apr 17 2025

My guest today is a nurse who has helped others navigate grief, and she’s determined to tackle her own grief-related clutter. Included in the attic that houses several generations of difficult clutter are unfinished quilting projects that are reminders of the people she’d planned to give them to.
