  • Would they abort Jesus? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 54)
    Jul 4 2025

    Today's Timestamps:

    1. 0:19 {Would They Abort Jesus?} What are four Bible verses to learn, to support the pro-live position? Would they have aborted Jesus back in history, based on current cultural reasoning we hear?
    2. 21:43 {Sins Against Us or Just God?} If someone commits a sin against you (abuse, etc.), are you also owed justice? Can Jesus forgive the justice you are owed, or was the sin committed only against God and not you (the sinner is now saved)?
    3. 29:54 {Choosing Between Two Churches} What would you do if you had to choose between a Calvinist leaning church and a church that believed women could be elders? Both churches are otherwise healthy and doctrinally sound.
    4. 33:14 {Interpreting the “High Places”} How should we understand the "high places"? 2 Chronicles 15: 17 and other passages condemn the kings for not tearing them down, but in 1 Samuel 9: 12, Samuel attends and blesses a sacrifice at a high place.
    5. 44:43 {Processing Past Relationship Issues} My wife had several partners before our marriage. I wasn’t around, but I feel like I have to forgive the men. Am I being weird? How do I bring this to God, because I'm still losing sleep 10 years later?
    6. 49:02 {Different Translations = Different Meanings?} Why does 1 Samuel 13:1 have different meanings in different translations (like the NKJV and NIV)?
    7. 58:25 {Is the Holy Spirit All-Knowing?} Does Matthew 24: 36 imply that the Holy Spirit doesn't know everything? How does that work if the Holy Spirit is God? I've been struggling with the Trinity lately.
    8. 1:04:36 {Submitting to a Non-Christian Husband?} How should a newly Christian woman apply Ephesians 5: 22 and Colossians 3: 18 when her husband has not yet come to Christ and is not supportive of her conversion?
    9. 1:10:46 {Galatians: The Meaning of “Quickly”} When the Galatians quickly deserted the Gospel (Galatians 1:6), did "quickly" refer to the time after Paul left to when they heard false teaching, or how easily they turned once they heard false teaching?
    10. 1:15:19 {Historical Data: Biblical Christianity} Is there any historical data on biblical Christianity outside the Catholic Church before the Reformation?

Bonus Q! 1:21:59 What’s your favorite Star Wars film?

    3:17:08 Important Disclaimers

Shawn Bolz is the false prophet. Elijah Stephens is the Christian who was misled and greatly harmed. Bethel is the church that I believe could have stopped it, and chose not to, endorsing the fake prophet and failing to deal properly with him and warn their people when evidence came out that he was lying in God's name. This video is made to help stir up positive change in the movement.

    3. Though it has been taken down from normal, wide publication, you can view Elijah's original documentary, "Send Proof," right HERE. This is the documentary Shawn Bolz prophesied about. Elijah asked me to share this with you for the sake of integrity, transparency, and accountability, but he doesn't want it viewed outside the context of this interview.

  • Exposing a bully pastor who used his pulpit to attack a victim: Teasi Cannon
    Jun 22 2025

Thank you to Teasi Cannon for being willing to come, at my invitation, and tell her story. We don't share this as a piece of entertainment but a way of calling Christians to something higher and bringing support to victims and accountability to leaders who abuse their authority.

I dislike YouTube when listening to long podcasts or teachings because it drains my phone battery and I'm not paying to have YT keep running when I turn my screen off. Tried the BibleThinker app, which crashes randomly. Audible is my reliable go-to for listening throughout the day, with zero ad interruption, and I'm so happy to have found Mike's work here.

Been binging BibleThinker on YT for about six months now, have only found a handful of things I disagreed with, but I never disagree with the godly manner in which Mike presents himself and his information. When I run into those tough gotcha questions that trolls like to throw down, I have started consulting Mike to see if he has a perspective on the matter, especially if I hadn't heard of some issue before. Thanks for pointing us to other great apologists and podcasts as well.

May our Lord continue to bless your ministry, now more than ever, in Jesus name.

Glad to have found Mike on Audible

I started watching Pastor Mike on YouTube while studying the Bible. There are several others I also like, but Mike Winger is by far the best. His podcast and videos cover verse by verse sections of the Bible, and he has a weekly 20 questions where you can ask about specific issues or Scripture verses. He spends probably 75% of his free time studying and researching, from what I can tell. He knows more about the Catholic Church than any priest or Catholic I know.

Mike is also humble, doesn’t ask for money, and is very gracious when discussing other points of view. He’s easy to understand and likable. By far I’ve learned more from him than any other pastor or teacher. I highly recommend his content for anyone wanting to learn about scripture. He gets into the meat of content and is caring and knowledgeable, and he readily admits when he might be wrong or changes position from further research.
