Kerrie Droban is the host and creator of the “CRIME STANDS STILL” podcast, a docuseries that follows one case every Season. Season One features the sensational Arizona story of Marjorie Orbin, a woman wrongfully convicted of the brutal and shocking beheading of her former husband and currently serving a life sentence. Season One, “Firefly,” was written and produced with the permission and encouragement of my client, Marjorie Orbin, whom I have represented in post-conviction for over ten years. After extensive investigation, research, and interviews, FIREFLY is a presentation of the “whole truth” and not just what the jury heard. Post-conviction practice is a highly specialized area of law that explores fundamental and nuanced aspects of criminal law and procedure. It asks what happened and what went wrong behind the scenes and outside the record after appeals have been exhausted. With over 3,200 inmates nationwide (21 of whom were sentenced to death) exonerated either in full or in part by DNA testing, newly discovered evidence, and newfound witnesses, post-conviction investigation is a vital component of truth and justice. • Kerrie Droban's CRIME STANDS STILL--DEEP CUTS SO1-EP-5 NIGHT STALKER
    Apr 9 2025

She said someone was watching. Following. Torturing. But no one believed her.

In the suburbs of Vancouver, nurse Cindy James reported nearly a hundred incidents of stalking, threatening calls, and violent attacks over seven years. Then, in 1989, her body was found—hogtied, drugged, and dumped behind an abandoned house. The coroner called it “death by unknown event.” The police called it suicide.

But the scene didn’t make sense. The evidence didn’t add up. And Cindy’s haunting words—“I’m going to be killed, and no one will believe me”—still echo decades later.

Was she mentally unraveling… or was there truly a night stalker lurking in the shadows?

Unravel the mystery in Crime Stands Still: Deep Cuts with Kerrie Droban – where the silence around Cindy James finally breaks.
