(Title deliberately incorrect). The Green New Deal should be widely accepted based on the number of Americans who are, nearly 100 years after its implementation, supportive of the Old New Deal. In pondering why the Green New Deal was not widely supported I came up with a few “reasons, the primary one being – no, not the conservative attacks on the idea – but the fact people don’t know what the Old New Deal actually was. Which is understandable; to know what the New Deal was, is to read between the cultural lines of what “New Deal” actually means as well as having a slight economic understanding of the 50 years prior to the Great Depression. Both would enable you to appreciate how expansive the New Deal was and why most people at the time knew the New Deal wasn’t just about a few programs, it was about remaking the system their lives depended on.

I owe the idea for this episode to Stuart Stevens. He has mentioned on many occasions the idea that the Dominant Conservative strain within the Republican party wasn’t the more optimistic Reagan-Bushian Compassionate Conservatism (whatever that is) but the more putrid Reagan-Trumpian Fasco-Conservatism. Both heavily rely on Corporations for their marching orders, along with superior marketing strategies (than those used by the democrats) to convince potential voters that their policies will primarily benefit their average lives and not the corporate lobbyists paying them. Paging Frank Luntz. This dominant strain began its hostile takeover several decades ago; officially I think it’ll tell you the takeover began in 1981 with Reagan’s election but I think we have to roll that year back at least one decade to the releasing of the Powell Memo which provided the first corporate playbook for taking the government from “We the People” and placing it under the control of “We the Aristocracy”. But that’s just my opinion. This episode unfolds this strain more significantly. Enjoy.

  • Class War Battlefield Podcast Episode 2023.17.00. Individualism, An Idea that Makes Little Sense, Yet it Persists in the American Mythology

At the heart of Western Civilizations Mythology of its Genesis and Growth is the idea of Individualism. This has always been a problem for me, mainly because “the individual” effect on its growth and in deed its genesis is only important at its administrative summit; and that is true only for the times when there had been upheaval in the power dynamics, outside this time period, it is not the King or Queen who is the most important cultural figure, but the people who follow the King’s or Queen’s orders and those who they rule over. I figured out along time ago that a Kingdom’s most important portion is the population the King has control over. Since we live beyond the Royal age though, I use this episode segment to delve into the absurdity of Imperialism being spread through the individualist concept – it doesn’t make sense, it has never made sense and the time has come when we underscore how insane of an idea this notion is. Enjoy.

The episode segments’ central theme surrounds the generational conflict that erupted into sociopolitical activities in the 1960s. Surrounding this theme is the idea that the police state has risen due this generational conflict. I have touched on this idea in an earlier CWB episode (in a 2012 episode); here, though, I draw out the idea more fully. Including speaking about how the institutions, both physical and cultural, enabling the public to discuss Capitalism critically, have been torn down deliberately, leaving no real structure for such criticisms to be debated, discussed, or disseminated (an interesting concept considering this is supposed a land where free speech is one of our most cherished “rights”). I make a bold prediction in this episode, one I hope will either not come true or prove to be overblown. This is truly an episode jam packed with content, I hope you appreciate it as much as I do.

[AND WE’RE OFF TO THE RACES – No pun intended, or maybe I intended that pun] This is not the show you think it is; prepare yourself for a full frontal denunciation of the White Supremacy Myth and an undressing of some European History. I open up this show with a quick conversation of God and Egotism and how both influenced a feudal and imperial Europe. I use some brutal language to describe the atrocities committed during the early Imperial raids in the Caribbean; I then move on to discussing enslavement and the need that created the kidnapping of Africans. Take in a deep breath because I don’t let up. The reason I created this episode segment was because I finally became fed up with the self-centered view of many of the subscribers to the White Genocide theory. A theory, by the way, that I believe is fact – not theory. White birth rates are declining around the world, Pat Buchanan talked about this ins the 1990s; this is occurring at a time when non-white birthrates are either remaining stable or in some cases increasing. Running parallel to each other, these trends are creating an unmistakable future; one where white people are less and less visible. Clearly that doesn’t spell out genocide; so I disagree with the use of the word in this instance; but the slow disintegration of white culture due in part to their decreasing population, is leading to the deterioration of their hold on power. This last point is where the fear actually lays for those subscribing to the White Supremacy Myth and the White Genocide Theory.

How could the wealthy paying you what you are worth, lead to them paying less taxes? This is the central theme forming the seed for this episode addendum. In the first part, I spoke about what taxes were; here I build on that discussion by speaking on how community is made and how community is kept stable for exploitation to take place. I also speak on how corporations see the government as an agent for making money and not an agent for building or holding together society (a great example of this was the Iraq War). Essentially this is an episode addendum built on Taxes, why they are important and what they can be used for and should be used for.

One of my pet bug-a-boos. . . .yes, still. For those who have been listening to this show for some time, you know how much I dislike the fact that Progressivism remains undefined. There is not philosophy behind it, there are no vision points they seek to realize and ultimately it is so flimsy that anyone can call themselves a Progressive just by saying they believe in Progressivism, which is undefined. Remember when Nancy Pelosi called herself a progressive and meant it. She was technically correct because she believes in higher, progressive taxes for the wealthy. This is the danger of having a political term without a philosophy or structure behind it; everyone can claim it while meaning nothing when they do. This episode is about that bug-a-boo and a lot more (y’all know what to expect by now lol). Enjoy.

The GOP has been waging war against the future. . . .no I am serious, they have been waging war against the future. The war hasn’t been literal, but it has been practically against the future. Peak Oil was discussed as a certainty for human industrial needs back in the 1970s; the impact oil was having on the environment (i.e. the Greenhouse effect or Climate Change) was cited as a near certainty a decade earlier though science wouldn’t catch up with the certainness of the prediction until the late 80s and early 90s (still over 30 years ago). Both required swift institutional level action to stave off the negative consequences of both phenomena. This institutional action would have to be matched by social cultural adaptation, as well as social economic evolution away from fossil fuels and the carbon emissions they produced; unfortunately, the selfish ones managing the centralized planning structures in Capitalist Industry, Finances and Economic philosophies had other plans. They scoffed at this new outlook, this new required and responsibility, instead decides to aim to recreate what had been destroyed (partially) by the New Deal, that being unlimited corporate power and the ability to control every aspect in human life (which naturally occurred with that power). And thus they have built an economic engine centered around this vision, holding off the necessary changes required to avert the predictable disasters which peak oil and over warming of the atmosphere would create. Sounds interesting right, well this is just an introduction to the forthcoming podcast episode (part).
