Several criminal incidents were reported in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas this past week. On May 7, 2025, Amy M. Ewers was arrested on four failure to appear warrants. The arrest was made by Colorado County Police Department, and the case is now moving through the judicial system.
In the Black Forest area, a theft was reported on February 22 at approximately 8:47 PM near Black Forest Road. This case was documented as a "cold" theft, indicating it was reported after the incident occurred. The case was assigned number 2023-00031789.
A traffic accident was reported on the same day at 7:29 PM at the 150 mile marker on northbound I-25 in Colorado Springs (case number 2023-00031768). Another traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Fontaine Boulevard and Fountain Mesa Road in the Security neighborhood at approximately 7:23 PM (case number 2023-00031765). A third collision was reported at North Marksheffel Road at 7:07 PM (case number 2023-00031758).
In Cimarron Hills, an alarm was triggered on Western Drive at around 9:04 PM on February 22 (case number 2023-00031791). A hazardous condition was also reported at the intersection of Peterson Road and Constitution Avenue in Cimarron Hills at approximately 8:40 PM (case number 2023-00031786).
On April 30, 2025, several arrests were made in neighboring Fremont County that may be of interest to Colorado Springs residents. Michael A. Trujillo was arrested as a fugitive of justice with DUI charges from Pueblo County. Joshua J. Kenitzer was arrested on DUID (Driving Under the Influence of Drugs) and two additional charges. Jesse L. Mundell was apprehended as a fugitive of justice with charges including motor vehicle theft from Arapahoe County.
