    Sen. Caleb Theodros began his life in Eritrea, a country in East Africa torn apart by civil conflict in the 1990s. At age five, his family brought him to the United States in search of a better life. After a brief stay in Las Vegas, the Theodros family relocated to Charlotte where they created a life for themselves.

    20 years later, Sen Theodros earned a degree from UNC Charlotte, worked in banking, managed local campaigns, and successfully ran in 2024 for a NC Senate seat that required he survive a brutal Democratic primary that included spying and car trackers.
