At the helm of one of the most influential coffee companies to emerge in the last few decades, Jon Perry is the VP of Retail at Stumptown Coffee Roasters, in Portland, OR. A legitimate “veteran of the coffee industry,” Jon has spent over 30 years leading café teams at several companies, doing his part in building and establishing coffee culture in San Francisco and Portland, and cementing the undeniable presence of some of the most recognizable coffee brands up and down the West Coast.
In this conversation, Matt and Jon run it back and chat about the beginning of Jon’s coffee journey, what’s kept him in coffee for this long, how he has seen the industry change, what inspires him, what he’s most excited about at Stumptown these days, and so much more.
