In this double portion, Dave will look at the difference between the God of the Old Testament — who seems to be a he-man woman-hater and has no problem with wiping out entire people groups — and the God of the New Testament, who is accepting, loving, and full of mercy. Is there really that big of a difference?
What is all this talk about "Appetizers, Entrées and Desserts"? If you read Hebrews 5 the author talks about how the fellow believers are like babies because they are ignorant of the "Oracles of God." The majority of the time that this word is used is in connection with the Torah given by God to His people. Here at The Whole Testament, we believe that we are also often times "Baby Believers" not knowing the meat of God's Oracles. We want to learn how to "eat" solid food. We are using this as a model for our podcasts. We want to eat meals, full big meals with an appetizer, entrées, and a dessert. The appetizers are shorter more devotion like episodes that are designed to get you thinking about something in a new way. The entrees are intended to get your really thinking deeply about the scriptures, and the desserts are about how we can apply what we have learned in our lives through conversations with people who are trying to do it in their lives. The Whole Testament is supported by people like you. To help us continue the conversation, head to thewholetestament.com and click on the donate tab.
